Senior Protection & Control, Lead Engineer

This role will be based in Burnaby, BC.
Your role within the team:
As a member of Transmission, Distribution and Renewables team, you will:
Prepare Protection & Control designs from conceptual to implementation stage for Transmission, Distribution and Generating stations.
Perform design work in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code.
Prepare single line diagrams, DC/AC control schematics.
Design and development of panel layouts and bill of materials and detailed wiring diagrams.
Develop cable block diagrams and cable and conduit schedules.
Program Protection & Control devices.
Work on reports and calculations and perform site visits.
Work collaboratively with other team members to deliver projects.
Mentor, coach, and supervise a team of junior engineers.
Assist in development of technical processes and procedures to improve efficiency.
Assist in preparation of proposals.

The ideal candidate:
Holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
Has 7-10 years of previous protection & control design work experience in T&D and or Generation sector.
Has taken courses in Protection & Control at a University level or equivalent.
Experience in a consulting environment is an asset.
Experience with AutoCAD and PLC programming is an asset.
Must be willing to learn new technologies and programming of devices.
Knowledge and application of the Canadian electrical code.
Is registered as a Professional Engineer with EGBC.
Demonstrated excellent written and oral English communication skills and good work ethic.

Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range $87,500 - $140,000 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
