We currently have an exciting vacancy for an experienced Building Surveyor to join our busy and friendly team here at Entrust. As the Senior Property Surveyor, you will be responsible for working with our clients in the education sector to implement and manage planned repairs, breakdown repairs and improvement/renewal schemes.

This is an exceptionally varied role covering a broad spectrum of public sector properties including primary schools, high schools, academies and some swimming pools. This role offers great scope for career progression and exposure to high profile clients.

This role is based in Staffordshire and covers properties across the area.

Job Description:

What you’ll be doing:

Undertake planned maintenance programmes including the design and specification of projects using standard documents where applicable, the raising and issuing of orders, the supervision of work on site and the verification of invoices for payment.Provide routine advice and support to schools and other properties on day to day and planned maintenance repairs.Implementation, diagnosing and managing works for the repair and maintenance within various buildings that are assigned to the successful candidate.Undertake project management/supervising officer duties while liaising with the establishment representative which involves the initiation and completion of maintenance and minor improvement works.As an expanding organisation, the successful candidate may be required to work out of county.Projects shall be carried out within approved budgets, with particular reference to health and safety procedures.Ensure the use of and adherence to appropriate health and safety risk assessments and precautions commensurate with the complexity of the project, with particular reference to the CDM 2015 regulations.Provide an effective liaison with Head Teachers and property site managers to deliver a comprehensive building maintenance service thus retaining the consultancy’s customer base.

What we're looking for :

Minimum of an HNC / HND in Building Studies or equivalent qualification. Qualified trades people within an appropriate trade with suitable supervisory experience will be considered.Experience in the management and organisation of building maintenance project works, working to budgets and deadlines.Experience in the provision of building specifications/drawings (AutoCad Lt is preferred) for maintenance and minor improvement works.Must be able to diagnose buildings defects, identify solutions and communicate these effectively to the relevant parties.Knowledge of building and planning regulations and other statutory requirements in relation to the design and construction of minor improvement projects.Knowledge and understanding of engineering services (mechanical and electrical) in relation to the overall maintenance of buildings. Including heating, lighting gas, fire and intruder alarms and domestic water services is desirable but not essentialCurrent Full Driving licenseDBS enhanced disclosure will be required
