Project management for Central Services Department with long term strategic capital portfolio. Primary purpose of this position is to plan and manage the delivery of a 5-year strategic capital expansion plan in support of PTFI business objectives and ongoing operations. Current 5-year Strategic Capital portfolio value totals around $2 Billion. Workforce associated with project scope of approximately 1,700.
This incorporates providing world class project management services, including project planning & schedule preparation, resource planning, engineering & design development, cost estimation, cost control, material procurement, construction works. Helping with organizing and scheduling QA/QC monitoring, and start-up & commissioning works for all Capital Projects efficiently and effectively. Ensuring the achievement of customers' needs, expectations, requirements, and PTFI safety goals within the budget and time frame according to company's policies and procedures. Individual will work closely with all functional business groups within Central Services Division and other PTFI/FCX Divisions as needed to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of resource usage and project delivery. The position will also be responsible for staff development and technology vendor relationship management.
Additional Responsibilities:
Development of the 5-year strategic capital forecast and budget by coordinating development of process design concepts to support future operations and underground mine expansion needs.Organize and coordinate all Project Teams consisting of Project Design Engineer, QA/QC Engineer, Project Field Engineer, Project Scheduler, Project Cost Control & Estimator, Construction Coordinator, Material Controller to achieve project completion is on time and within the approved budget.Manage the development and execution of project planning, estimating, tracking and construction & quality control management. This includes working closely with the business functional areas, and external customers and vendors in defining project priorities, scope of work, resource requirements, timing of deliverables and capital expenditure forecasting.Conduct and prepare Project Coordination meetings to communicate and discuss project issues and to track each project progress and determine earned values for project metrics.Organize the development and distribution to customers, PTFI management and project team members, project status reports to include project schedule, project progress & productivity metrics, project safety, project expenditures & cost forecasting, resource usages and quality control & commissioning reports.Organize the development of the appropriate and most effective construction methods with the Central Services Construction management team.Inspects, approves, and accepts completed projects, ensuring conformance with PTFI standards, building and life safety codes, and architectural/engineering specifications.Investigate, when necessary, any damage, accidents, or delays at construction sites, to ensure that proper procedures are being carried out and help facilitate corrective actions to maintain project schedules and deliveries to the client.Organize contract preparations, revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with engineers, consultants, clients, suppliers, subcontractors, contracts management group. Utilize management of change to ensure all aspects of change notifications are fully carried out and risks are mitigated before project change orders are accepted. Hold clients and construction groups to senior management’s approved scope of work and prevent scope creep and/or unapproved budget changes.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a core engineering discipline and at least ten (10) years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.Knowledge of Project Management principles and procedures.Knowledge of Construction Management and proven construction methods.Knowledge of Design Engineering, Field Engineering, Quality Control and Commissioning principles and procedures.Ability to read project schedules, cost estimates, project drawings, specifications, and technical manuals.Technical knowledge of construction materials and their function.Technical knowledge of material logistics and handling to support remote construction sites.Knowledge of contract documents and specifications with the ability to negotiate and manage contractual arrangements.Skill in organizing internal and external resources and establishing priorities.Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse and multi-cultural community.Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.Ability to develop and deliver presentations with varying degrees of detail that are targeted to specific levels of management and/or audience of varying technical understanding.Ability to foster a cooperative business environment.Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.Skill in workflow analysis and time management.Ability to perform site inspections and/or approve installations.Skill in the use of computers and familiarity with MS Office 365, MS Project, AutoCAD and Primavera P6 Professional.Preferred Qualifications
Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate.Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in at least one core engineering discipline.Passing certificate of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.Criteria/Conditions
