Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Project Manager.
Reporting to the Sr Program Director, the Senior Project Manager will oversee multiple and or large/complex projects from planning design through construction inspections move in and closeout. The Senior Project Manager will be expected to act as the primary point of authority and accountability for the project s assigned to him or her and may supervise the work of Project Managers and/or Assistant Project Managers. This requires the ability to build lead and manage multiple project teams to create project plans define project scope and establish budgets and to solicit and synthesize input from end users departmental leadership facilities staff consultants and other key stakeholders
Job Responsibilities:
Lead develop and manage a project team; aid in development of a project plan including definition scope and budgets incorporating input from appropriate team members consultants and clients Lead project team meetings with NYU in house personnel to schedule work and coordinate shutdowns tie ins and contractor accessMaintain interface with client and internal business units ensuring compliance with project performance goals including quantitative cost and schedule targets and achievement of NYULMC quality standardsPerform daily construction site safety inspections record and ensure prompt correction of deficiencies; ensure infection control procedures are being rigorously followed at all times and instill a culture of safety on all projectsEffectively communicate construction impacts and work collaboratively with NYULMC leadership and staff to mitigate impacts to ongoing operationsEnsure accessibility to construction sites including the coordination of schedules with NYU hospital and school functionsEnsure that projects comply with all applicable guidelines codes and standards FGI NFPA NYC Building Code ADA etcReview documents for compliance with NYU standards and existing site conditionsParticipate in cost control activities by seeking the most effective method of delivering servicesMinimum Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree BA/BS preferably in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management7 years work experience in project management required at least 3 years of which should include management of multiple and/or highly complex projects2 years managerial experience required directly supervising one or more staff on multiple projectsExperience working on at least two sides of the business i e consultant construction manager owner owner rep architect engineer or contractor is requiredSeasoned project management skills including design construction occupancy schedule and budget management. This includes:Interfacing with leadership and end users to define project requirements and establish project work plan and deadlines Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to NYULH leadership and staff and/or public audiencesManaging the RFP process and participating in selection of design teamsManaging the design development process ensuring consultant teams and internal partners deliver designs that are responsive to the program and meet established schedule and budget targetsAbility to apply analytical skills to the bid leveling processExperience with various contracting models for design and constructionRepresenting NYULH with architects vendors consultants and regulatory agenciesOverseeing consultants and contractorsDeep familiarity with best practices in construction site safety protocols Ability to develop and maintain successful user relations Ability to identify defects in quality of construction during site walk throughs Knowledge of financial terms and principles as they apply to design and construction processesAbility to comprehend analyze and interpret complex business documentsKnowledge of general and industry specific financial terms and principlesAbility to set aggressive but achievable deadlines and be accountable for meeting themCapability and willingness to perform periodic inspections of job site conditions and project progress which might include climbing stairs and ladders to access areas throughout off site properties and superblock campus accessing roofs inspecting mechanical equipment rooms and electrical roomsIntermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite QualitiesStrong communications and relationship building skillsHigh ethical and moral standardsExcellent judgment and strong reasoning ability Ability to function effectively in ambiguous situations and to navigate in an environment with multiple variables and rapidly changing parametersAdvanced analytical and quantitative skillsAbility to respond swiftly to sensitive project related issues and to recognize and proactively mitigate project risksAbility to motivate and negotiate effectively with end users and internal departmentsAbility to take initiative and make well informed decisionsPreferred Qualifications:
Professional Registration PE or RA3 5 years project management experience on a different side of the business i.e. consultant, owner, owner rep contract/architect, contractor, engineerExperience in related fields preferredAdvanced degree in Business Planning, Design, Construction Management, Engineering or Architecture a plusQualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $117,107.95 - $136,407.45 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
