Steampunk is seeking a Senior Project Manager who is technical, creative, and a hands-on expert in delivering innovative technology solutions. The ideal candidate will not only coach and guide teams but may also be hands-on in driving project success.

 

Contributions

As a Senior Project Manager, you will ensure that the project teams maintain a strong focus on quality and continuous delivery while providing clear visibility into project targets, commitments, and progress.

 

Ensures team(s) maintain focus on quality and continuous deliveryProvides visibility into delivery targets, commitments, and progressCreates roadmaps and milestone charts for the projectBe well managed – understand and coach the team on delivery controls, compliance to minimize operational and reputational riskProactively identifies impediments and appropriately resolves using a network of peers and formal channels (including escalation if required)Integrates Agile and Lean principles into team practices and work productCoaches Product Owner and team on backlog refinement and prioritizationCoaches the team to improve collaboration and self-organizationUtilizes team feedback and metrics (quality, delivery rate, etc.) to identify areas of opportunity and works with the team to continuously improveAssesses the current organization and delivery environment and recommends optimal Agile practices tailored to the clientInnovates with practices and frameworks through experimentation to improve the team and their deliveryDevelops understanding and encouragement of team’s innovation and improvementPrepares and delivers effective communications both verbally and in writing regarding progress and status for both internal and client teamsPerforms hands-on project work, including analysis, design, and change management, as needed by the projectUnderstands domain architecture and targets to identify upstream and downstream dependencies and to support the team in risk management. Qualifications

Required

Master's degree in a related program and 8 years of experience; ORBachelors degree in a related program and 10 years of relevant experience; ORNo degree and 16 years of relevant experience12+ years managing IT projects using Agile methodologies and approaches; proven background in consulting and project managementPossesses at least one professional certification relevant to the technical service provided.

Ability to establish immediate credibility with clients, build consensus, and achieve goals through influenceAbility to help teams write user stories/epics, identify dependencies, and design optimal solutionsFlexibility to work with teams, individuals, and executives and willingness to help with a wide variety of work products and peopleDemonstrated ability to influence and consult while providing thought leadership to sponsors/stakeholders in solving governance, program/project management, business process and/or technical problemsExcellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with strong presentation and facilitation skillsPMP certification preferredStrong organizational and analytical skills About steampunk

 

Steampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $150,000 to $190,000.  The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
