The Role
As a Senior Project Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. As an international defence company, we support and enhance our customers’ defence and security capabilities and critical assets, meeting their requirements of value for money, increased availability, modernisation and flexibility.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll be providing operational management of a team of multi-functional project staff, you’ll be responsible for the timely and cost-effective delivery of products and services to our customers.
You’ll play a key role in growing our contracts and building strong customer relationships, implementing our ambitious strategy. You’ll drive growth and the role will provide high levels of responsibility and the opportunity to work at the front of delivering some key UK Defence and Security contracts.

 

Providing overall operational and strategic management of the project. Project management of your contract, ensuring that the delivery teams understand cost, time and quality requirements and remain coordinated in their approach to delivering agreed scope of work.  Providing end-to-end delivery throughout the project lifecycle, you’ll also be responsible for supporting with requirement capture, scoping, technical and commercial solutions and the generation of pricing models and proposal documents. Ensuring that effective change management is applied to projects, balancing flexibility to changing customer requirements with the need for robust commercial agreements.  Defining acceptance criteria for contracted deliverables and production of professional handover documentation to ensure timely close-out of milestones and projects as well as technical handover to our operational teams.


This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with up to 4 days onsite and 1 day working from home. You may also be required to travel to Rosyth, however this it not regular travel.


Essential Experience of the Senior Project Manager

Considerable experience in the advanced application of Project Management techniques in a relevant technical project environment. Experience in leading and managing a team of project staff, providing direction and motivation. Experience managing projects with differing demands and deadlines. Experience of working within a Design and Build Programme or Production Environment is highly desirable. Experience of working within the Defence and Security sector is advantageous.


Qualifications for the Senior Project Manager 

Association for Project Management's Project Management Qualification, Chartered status or equivalent (advantageous).

The successful candidate must be a SOLE UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
