Job Summary Langan is seeking a Senior Project Hydrogeologist to join its collaborative team in San Francisco, CA, Portland, OR, or Seattle, WA. This individual will serve a key function in managing hydrogeologic projects and clients throughout the country, with a focus on the west coast. This individual will have experience in analyzing physical and chemical subsurface data, performing hydrogeological studies, developing hydrogeologic conceptual site models, developing numerical groundwater flow and transport models, designing/managing/analyzing aquifer tests, conducting water resources evaluations and evaluating groundwater remediation alternatives. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team of industry-renowned professionals in a variety of geographic areas and regulatory programs, and to collaborate and learn from our multi-disciplinary team of site/civil, geotechnical, survey, and landscape architect professionals on landmark land development projects. Job Responsibilities + Participate in the identification and pursuit of new clients, develop additional work within an existing project and attend business development meetings with new and existing clients; + Provide direct oversight and management of junior staff for specific project assignments. Coach, train, and motivate staff assigned to environmental projects. Participate in interviewing and hiring staff; + Supervise project managers tasked with coordinating and observing field activities and ensure correct interpretations of findings. Coordinate with staff to ensure that data collection and laboratory analyses are completed correctly, within budget, and on time; + Manage and deliver on multiple projects and tasks within specific budgets, schedules, and deadlines; + Manage environmental investigation and remediation projects with hydrogeologic focuses; + Perform complex hydrogeological analyses for specific portions of broad engineering and environmental projects; + Develop and use computational groundwater models to evaluate groundwater flow, and fate and transport of contaminants using graphical user interfaces such as GMS; + Coordinate and manage junior staff to collect soil, soil vapor, indoor and ambient air, sediment, surface water, and groundwater samples; log soil boring lithology and install groundwater monitoring wells; + Develop task and project budgets and schedule and perform task and project administrative activities, including preparing progress reports and reviewing project billings; + Interface effectively and professionally with clients, regulators, contractors, subcontractors, staff, project personnel, supervisors, and others. Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related: + Professional licensure required; + 10 to 15+ years of related work experience; + In-depth knowledge and understanding of local, state and federal regulations + 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification; + Proficiency in environmental due diligence; + Knowledge of quantitative/technical analyses and related software. Demonstrated ability to perform quantitative and technical analyses; + Comprehensive understanding of regulatory requirements; + Excellent public speaking, written, and verbal communication skills; + Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities; + Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment; + Ability to multi-task effectively, manage multiple projects and clients, develop and manage project budgets, and effectively manage and coach staff; and + Possess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits and a valid driver’s license in good standing. The estimated range for this role is: $112,500 - $171,000. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, location, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills. Certain roles may be eligible for overtime and participation in the firm's annual bonus and performance review program. Bonuses are discretionary and based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm. Employees are also eligible to receive up to 20 days of paid vacation time, 10 days of paid sick time and 10 paid holidays throughout the year. Eligibility and actual paid time off may vary based on local law and factors such as hours worked, related work experience and level.
