What You Will Do:Gannett Fleming TranSystems is seeking a Senior Project Engineer, Wastewater to join our Water / Wastewater Team in Houston, TX! This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Houston, TX office. Gannett Fleming TranSystems’ Water / Wastewater Teams work across the United States and Canada to improve systems and quality. Water is an essential part of life. We are also ranked among the top water treatment design firms by Engineering News-Record (ENR) What you’ll be challenged to do:In this role, you will work closely with our technical experts, project teams, and client service managers to advance our technical services and support business development on a wide variety of wastewater and water resources projects in the Greater Houston area.
This position is responsible for providing all aspects of engineering for water/wastewater utility projects for public and municipal utility district clients. In addition to leading a team of engineers and technical professionals, this position will also be actively involved in professional associations and community organizations as Gannett Fleming TranSystems continues building
In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: Prepare proposals, budgets, and client agreementsLead and oversee design and technical aspects of the team(s) projects including detailed engineering design and calculations, report writing, permitting, and presentations to clientsWrite responses to client RFQs and SolicitationsDevelop and maintain professional relationships with clients, public agency officials and community leadersCoordinate and monitor project tasks, budgets, and schedulesParticipate in the development of company design and production standardsDirect and manage the implementation of a project including coordination with project stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and other external and internal parties to achieve project milestonesOversee and manage construction phases of projects to ensure works are completed in accordance with the contract documents, on time and budgetParticipate in professional associations and civic organizations within the communitySupport client marketing and business development activities required to procure project assignments, including development of scope, schedule and budget for proposals.Mentor staff and lead development of other PMsEducation | Experience:What you will bring to our firm: Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited college or universityProfessional Engineer (P.E.) designation in the State of Texas, or the ability to obtain registration within 6 months15 or more years' experience managing substantial water and wastewater projects from conception to completionDemonstrated strong project management skills; PMP certification a PLUSSuccessful record of delivering projects on schedule, budget and meeting the client's Ability to provide oversight and guidance of project management fundamentals. What we prefer you bring: Strong written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective presentations and written report preparation.Knowledge of potable water treatment and wastewater treatment a plusKnowledge of local codes, development processes, and utility regulationsExtensive knowledge of design and construction practices for waterlines, storage tanks, pump stations, wastewater lines, lift stations and force mains.Demonstrated ability to manage projects and deliver on time and within budgetProven ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, public agency officials and community leadersProven ability to lead a team of engineers and technical professionalsActively involved in professional associations and civic organizations Compensation:The range for this position is salary range is $175,000 - $210,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
