The Senior Architect, Toronto, ON is ultimately responsible for the administering design projects with a focus on planning, directing, coordinating and over-seeing the work of Architectural staff and ensuring the technical accuracy/adequacy, safety, constructability, maintainability, cost effectiveness and timely completion of designs, and preparation of engineering documents.
Supervises the preparation of project documents for assigned projects.Responsible for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments.Assists Principal Architect in planning and developing architectural projectsInvolves exploration of subject area, definition of scope, selection of items for investigation, and development of novel concepts and methods.Ultimately responsible for the execution of designs with a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary coordination.Capable of interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments, staff, and scope of work based on the client’s requirements.Utilizes knowledge of computer software to convey the project intentThe Senior Architect performs design work for a wide variety of project types, including but not limited to new construction and renovation work primarily for transit and transit related buildings.
Education | Experience:
Minimum Qualifications
Licensed Architect with major transit project responsibility Preferred.(15) or more years of experience as a Licensed Architect who plans, develops, executes, and coordinates medium to large scope projects with many complexitiesExperience overseeing team of architects, engineers, and technical personnel with minimal supervision.Must be familiar with budgeting procedures and practices.(15) or more years of experience in a Canadian Architectural Office.Advanced skills with Revit, Building Information Modeling (BIM), AutoCAD, MicroStation, knowledgeable in the use of Sketch-up, 3D software, Rendering software, Photoshop.Advanced skills with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)Must be capable of communicating / presenting concepts through verbal, written, or drawing medium.Must have strong graphic presentation skills and abilities to present to clients and project teams.ALL CANDIDATES MUST SUBMIT A PORTFOLIO WITH THEIR CV/RESUMEEducation Required:
