Senior Program Manager, Duwamish Valley Engagement
**Some of what you'll be doing:** As a Senior Program Manager, Duwamish Valley Engagement, you will be a strategic advisor and thought leader on community capacity building, environment & sustainability, economic & workforce development, and equity & environmental justice in the Duwamish Valley. You will represent the Port internally and externally with audiences like the Port Community Action Team (PCAT), elected officials, executive leadership, local and regional public agencies, and community-based organizations and community members. + You will oversee the Commission-adopted Duwamish Valley Community Equity Program (DVCEP) and Community Benefits Commitment (CBC), in alignment with Resolution 3767, and in partnership with the PCAT. You will provide leadership for the future development of the Duwamish River Community Hub as an education and resource center. + You will collaborate with the PCAT to support community leadership, communicate and foster community priorities with Port teams, and advocate for and advance shared Port-community agendas. + You will partner with the Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion’s (OEDI) Workforce Development and Maritime Environment & Sustainability’s Habitat Restoration teams on the continued implementation of the Green Jobs Initiative. + You will collaborate with team members in Community Engagement, OEDI and Environment and Sustainability on issues related to Environmental Justice and near-port community involvement in Port projects and programs. + You will support inclusive community outreach and engagement programs, events, tours, partnerships, and sponsorships that support community priorities, Century Agenda goals, and the Port’s business and strategic objectives. + You will track program progress and accomplishments, oversee multiple budgets, negotiate and manage multi-year contracts, and evaluate program success including close work with consultants on Community Capacity Building and working collaboratively with OEDI on the Green Jobs Initiative. + You will evaluate and respond to sponsorship, tour, and event requests on economic, environmental, and community-related topics. **Who you are:** + **Experienced** – You have six (6) years of community outreach experience including the development, maintenance and community advocacy in support of multicultural and/or multi-partner collaborations, to include, two (2) years of lead, mentor or supervisory experience including leading a project or process. + **Desired** – We hope you have a bachelor’s degree in public administration, communications, or environmental/sustainability studies. + **Committed to Equity** – You will apply equity and exemplify shared values, behaviors, and practices in all aspects of the work. You can also innovate, reinterpret, and design new strategies and activities that support the Port’s mission. + **Leader** – You have servant-leader capacity and intuition with a collaborative and partnership-focused work ethic that brings together various interested parties possessing divergent backgrounds, expertise, interests, and abilities for shared decision making. You have a strong social-emotional intelligence and the ability to tailor communication practices through active listening, facilitation, and other inclusion practices to convey messages and build productive relationships. **What else you need to know:** + **Driver’s License** – You will need a valid Washington State Driver’s License, or the ability to obtain one, is required in order to travel locally to project sites. + **Work Schedule** – Your normal work schedule will be Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). Slightly more flexible start and end times are available in this role. You will be required to work any and all assigned shifts, including nights and weekends. You may be required to work during emergencies. + **Work Environment** - This work will take place in a hybrid/in-office setting at Management’s discretion. + **Washington State Residency Requirement** – Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle.
