Senior Program Manager, Amazon Retail Consumables
Amazon.co.jp is looking for a senior product manager who is a customer-centric, data driven and strategic thinking with a proven record with driving new product launch and growth in a cross-functional environment. Under aging society, senior segment is one of key area which is under-served with low online shopping penetration and requires innovative shopping experience for the customers. Such hard-to-reach segment is an opportunity not only for JP but also nations like EU and US with similar aging society trend and withholds vast opportunity to improve customer experience in purchasing products on Amazon. This role focuses on driving the launch and the management of new product in JP to better serve Japanese senior customers’ demand and preference. It offers exciting opportunity to work across multiple functions including software development, marketing, product / program managers, finance, legal, business intelligence, and CS in both domestic and international teams to build an innovative customer experience.
In this role, you will be leading creating proposals for new product, defining requirements, and manage its launch schedule from design to release. You work closely with relevant multi-functional stakeholders to develop an annual plan of the initiative including request for required resources, align with multiple stakeholders about priorities, and negotiate external companies for business partnership where necessary. You also have opportunity to present proposals and report program status to senior management. A successful candidate needs to be highly analytical, data and fact driven, have ability to work independently in an ambiguous environment, and well communicate program goals and status with internal and external stakeholders towards goals.

Key job responsibilities

1. Identifying opportunities and create business cases to launch new products, supported by data analysis and voice of customers.
2. Develop a strategy to drive customer acquisition/engagement for the new product and set ambitious goals to engage and gain alignment with key stakeholders.
3. Write working backwards documents on customer experience, requirement documents and business reports to ensure clear communication and coordination among internal stakeholders on goals and progress.
4. Launch new service in coordination with business partners in category management in JP stores, marketing, software engineers, finance partners, Legal in Japan and other relevant teams in multiple locales.
5. Make decisions when facing difficult conflicts even with limited information to keep our customer experience bar high.
