Senior Product Manager - Tax Product

Forming part of the global Product Management function; the Senior Tax Product Manager role provides definition, support, technical and product leadership through cross-functional collaboration with business units, corporate departments, operations and technology stakeholder groups. It’s core remit is to maintain and optimise NT’s tax capabilities, product set and service offering, with a focus on risk, market compliance, value proposition and customer experience.

Key responsibilities:

Develop a sophisticated internal presence with stakeholder partners, providing product leadership and subject matter expertise to support NT’s business and drive forward the product agenda.Maintain a deep understanding of tax product capabilities; how they are delivered, key client segments and commercial/revenue opportunities. This includes providing technical leadership while continually positioning the product to deliver value inter alia to capabilities across regional markets, asset classes, time zones, account structures, service-standards, documentation requirements and legal, risk and product frameworks.Understand all facets of the operating environment, including but not limited to technology, platform and data capabilities; enterprise risk management;Perform ongoing competitive analysis, benchmarking, and prioritisation to help refine or set product strategy.Understand the client experience and prioritise key focus areas and opportunities to remove friction and inefficiency. Look for ways to enhance overall client engagement to NT’s tax product.Assess and understand the impact of Market & Regulatory developments across the range of capabilities and products that we support.Collaborate with business units to assess product development opportunities, prioritise capital investment and resource allocation. Create compelling business cases to deliver our strategy.Help set the Product Roadmap and agree stakeholder prioritisation, ensuring this ties in with the overall product strategyPerform market and segment assessments and develop insights to develop and reenforce a sophisticated understanding of our operating environment.Raise our industry profile and contribute to market advocacy and thought leadership initiatives.   Understand and advocate for / promote client needs in respect of the complex tax and regulatory environment.Establish alignment and cross-functional collaboration with key stakeholders, and provide technical and product support and leadership to maintain the quality of NT’s product-offering.Support an optimised location strategy in partnership with Tax Operations.Market Scan and identify opportunities to apply enhanced understanding of competitor, commercial, and client trends to optimise NT’s Tax Product and generate relevant and compelling thought leadership.Establish position and influence within Tax Industry Associations/ForumsProvide sales support, including client and prospect pitches and RFPsCollaborate with stakeholders to set ‘house positions’ over complex tax treatments and/or client entitlement.

The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate most or all of the following:

Comprehensive domain knowledge and experience; especially of custody, custody-tax and fund-administration disciplines.Demonstrated ability to think strategically with respect to the product strategy and development agendaLeadership presence and cachet; to lead through influence; to communicate Product strategy and set standards across all regional tax disciplines.   Strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to liaise and build relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders at different corporate levels.Strong EQ skills; self-awareness, strong organisational and self-management skills; relationship building skills and organisational awareness.A proactive and consistent communication style; being able to communicate appropriately to senior leadership and other stakeholders.Strong presentation skills, to be able to communicate compelling stories across different audiences including Senior Management.Proficiency in constructing and overseeing logical and conclusive presentations, using the right method and media to distil complex subject matter into management-ready materials.Being a go-to contact; representing the interests of our product to both local and global management and key stakeholders, while ensuring appropriate connectivity and functional alignment.Ability to exhibit supportive behaviours to their own management line; creating effective communication channels and MI to enable remote management within a matrix organization.Ability to promote a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with business and operations to drive strategy, improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity.Technical precision and attention to detail with proven ability to assess risk and take appropriate actions.Proven expertise in developing, prioritizing and delivering transformation business-cases.Substantial client facing experience with a track record of developing strong client relationships.Experience in managing, supporting and aligning cross-functional business partners to influence consistent delivery.Strong understanding of commercial aspects of the custody business.Ability to carry out complex initiatives involving multiple disciplines and/or complex or ambiguous issues.A track record of delivery.
