Senior Private Bank Relationship Manager
The Private Bank Senior Relationship Managers acts as the primary advisor and oversees the relationship for the bank’s high net worth private banking clients. Works closely with the Private Bank Regional Executive on delivering strategic priorities. Responsible for growing private bank products and services within assigned geographic footprint. Optimizes client relationships by positioning and selling a broad array of appropriate financial products and services. Develops strategic relationships with all NBT Wealth team members, Regional Presidents, Commercial Banking leaders, and other partners to grow the client base and effectively refer business. Oversees and develops staff required to meet wealth initiatives. Education and Experience: + Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent financial services experience. + Minimum 7 years’ experience in Private Banking. + 5 years of sales experience. + Business development and outside business sales experience required. Skills and Abilities: + Self-starter, motivated and excited to build a new business. + Strong leadership and management skills. Demonstrated / Broad knowledge of Banking, Credit, Investments, Trust, Financial Planning and demonstrates the ability to assess client needs. + Ability to prepare and deliver effective presentations. + Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of financial products and banking regulations. + Demonstrated strong client consultative skills. + Excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills. Tasks Performed: + 40% - Responsible for meeting or exceeding assigned individual and team sales goals which can include expanding existing client business, referrals and new business growth. Employs and maintains a disciplined approach to prospecting and leveraging partner, COI, client introductions. Actively participates in community organizations to source business development opportunities and demonstrate NBT’s commitment to the local community. + 25% - Develops a comprehensive understanding of client’s needs, based on the review and analysis of personal and business financial data gathered. Delivers distinctive service by completing annual relationship reviews for clients. Brings other wealth and line of business partners to the table to deepen the relationship. Prepares and delivers client presentations, individually and as part of a team. + 20% - Manage, coach and mentor the assigned staff. Supports staff to develop individual goals, assure minimum satisfactory employee job performance, provide training opportunities and promote skill/career development, as well as conduct timely and comprehensive coaching summary/performance reviews. + 10% - Maintains an in-depth knowledge of all wealth management products and services. Maintains all designations and corresponding CE requirements and has in-depth knowledge of competitor’s products and services. + 5% - Completes administrative tasks (pipeline management reporting, expense management, etc.) on a timely basis as well as other duties as assigned.
