Raytheon is seeking a Senior Principal Systems Engineer Operations Director (OD) to provide senior technical leadership, oversight and direction to a multidisciplinary multi-contractor team of engineers in support of 24x7 operational activities and provide responses to system hardware and software anomalies. The OD is the contractor team’s primary interface with the customer senior leadership teams and represents the management team off-hours. The OD interfaces with day staff senior leadership teams and supports integration of future hardware and software deliveries. This is a 24x7 operational position that requires working rotating shifts including weekends and holidays. **Location:** Near Springfield, Virginia **What You Will Do** + Interface with internal and external customer and contractor leadership. + Provide technical direction to the shift engineers in response to system hardware and software issues; call-in additional engineering skills to solve more complex problems. + Coordinate and provide solutions and options to anomalous conditions. + Coordinate problem resolutions with external segments by prioritizing system resources. + Perform quality control checks across the operations teams ensuring necessary processes and procedures are in place. + Support the integration of new hardware and software deliveries. + Document system discrepancies. + Approve operational procedures. **Qualifications You Must Have** + Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 10 years of prior engineering experience. + Experience and knowledge utilizing technical program operational domains. + Experience leading technical teams and other engineering teams during problem resolution in the customer environment. + Experience evaluating and assessing program system level requirements and the feasibility of products and interfaces + Experience planning and executing long and short-term tasks to set and accomplish operational objectives + Experience facilitating joint efforts between customer and contract lead + **An active and transferable TS/SCI CI Poly U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
