Senior Principal Scientist, Oncology Research (all genders)

We are growing rapidly with an active research and discovery pipeline. This role will play a strategic part in guiding research and drug discovery programs in the oncology pipeline. We are seeking an innovative and agile individual who brings significant expertise in drug discovery in cancer biology as well as a passion for professional development and peer coaching.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for leading multiple drug discovery programs, initiatives, or collaborations in Research / Early Development (RED) Oncology from target identification up through support of early clinical developmentSupports and contributes to the drug development strategy of RED OncologySupports the matrixed management and coaching of peers and other colleagues in RED Oncology to support multiple drug development programsSupports the career development and scientific strategic coaching of colleagues in Research OncologyCollaborates with other R&D functions and supports cross team and cross site activitiesImplements back translational strategies at the interface of drug discovery and clinical development’Contributes to key documentation and presentations for projects moving through internal review stage gates and regulatory submissions.Works across portfolio assets to drive an integrated strategy with indication, mode of action or modality focus Maintains and extend a network with external partners from academia, contract research organizations and medical expertsFosters creativity and motivation between scientists

Ph. D. in Cancer Biology or related field with long-term years of industry experienceExperience with the discovery of therapies for biomarker driven, selected patient populationsIn-depth knowledge of cancer dependency databases, data science knowledge seen as advantageousExperience in design and execution of early stage research program(s) to identify and validate novel targetsExperience in strategic planning and project leadership in OncologyExcellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to work across functions and within external collaborations, and a demonstrated ability to organize and communicate complex data sets in a clear and concise manner to cross-functional audiencesStrong organizational and time-management skills and demonstrated ability to lead complex cross-functional collaborations including managing relationships with academic collaborators and CROsRecognized scientific innovation and accomplishment evidenced by strong record of publication and conference presentations in cancer biologyPro-actively asks for and gives feedback Demonstrates strategic thinking as well as good business and external trends insights Focuses on outcomes: defines and deliver highest pipeline, team, talent and organizational impact outcomes Collaborates with accountability: collaborates and holds each other accountable in and across teams Is the best self and includes others: respects differences, embraces inclusion and shows up as the best self
