Senior Principal Consultant - FinOps Lead

Inviting applications for the role of Senior Principal Consultant - FinOps Lead
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing cloud financial operations, optimizing cloud spending, and implementing cost management strategies. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud platforms, financial management, and strong analytical skills to drive cost efficiencies across the organization.

Responsibilities
• Oversee the management and maintenance of cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability and reliability.
• Develop and implement cloud financial management strategies to optimize cloud spending.
• Monitor cloud usage and costs, ensuring they align with budget and forecast.
• Identify and analyze cost trends, providing actionable insights to reduce expenses.
• Lead the budgeting and forecasting process for cloud expenses.
• Work closely with finance and IT teams to align cloud spending with organizational budgets.
• Provide accurate and timely financial reports and forecasts to stakeholders.
• Implement cost optimization techniques, such as rightsizing, reserved instances, and identifying underutilized resources.
• Develop and enforce cost-saving policies and practices.
• Continuously evaluate and refine cost management strategies.
• Establish and enforce cloud governance policies to ensure efficient and compliant cloud usage.
• Implement tagging and tracking mechanisms for accurate cost allocation.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
• Collaborate with IT, finance, and business teams to understand their needs and provide cost-effective cloud solutions.
• Act as a liaison between finance and IT to ensure clear communication and alignment on cloud financial goals.
• Provide training and guidance to teams on cloud financial best practices.
• Implement and manage cloud cost management tools (e.g., CloudHealth, AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management).
• Develop automation scripts to streamline cloud financial operations and reporting.
• Ensure tools are configured correctly to provide accurate cost and usage data.
• Generate and distribute regular reports on cloud spending, savings opportunities, and financial performance.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud financial operations, policies, and procedures.
• Ensure reports and documentation are up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
• Stay updated with the latest cloud financial management trends and best practices.
• Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in cloud financial operations.
• Participate in industry forums and training to enhance FinOps expertise.


Qualifications we seek in you
Minimum Qualifications / Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Experience in financial management, with a cloud financial operations or FinOps.
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their pricing models.
• Proficiency in financial analysis and cost management tools.
• Experience with cloud cost management and optimization tools.
• Knowledge of financial reporting and budgeting processes.


Preferred Qualifications/ Skills

• Certifications such as Certified FinOps Practitioner, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, or Azure Fundamentals.
• Experience with financial modeling and cost-benefit analysis.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
