Our client a leading Consulting Engineering company is searching for a Senior Power ESIA Sector Specialist for their Johannesburg offices
Duties / Responsibilities
Strategic input into the Company and business unit growth ie business development including the identification management and development of opportunities and proposals including mining industry and oil & gas in the African region
Key Account Management and Client Relationship Management with specific focus on the development and management of framework agreements with key clients and large national and multinational projects
Project manage and lead ESIA role on local and international ESIA ESEMP SESA projects including large international projects in collaboration with global teams
Project director role in key projects including strategic project appraisal direction and review bidding process
Preparation of project related reports eg ESIA ESEMP SESA as well as broader review and QAQC role within the ESIA team
Provision of on the job technical training and mentorship to staff within the South African ESIA team as well as key recruitment and team growth
Adherence to the Business Management System including administrative processes financial HSE and quality management requirements
Requirements
The incumbent will be required to have a minimum of Honours degree in the environmental field
Minimum of 15 years environmental consulting experience
Indepth knowledge and working experience of IFC performance standards
Experience in carrying out ESIA process for large scale thermal power generation projects in the SubSaharan Africa
Experience in ReSettlement Action Planning and strategic environmental and social impact assessments SESA within the power sector and experience in carrying out ESIA processes for large scale high power transmission line projects in the Sub Saharan Africa would be advantageous
