Where You Will Work   

Our Technology Center is home to a team of globally recognized engineers and scientists who provide innovative mining, processing and environmental solutions to our operations throughout the world. Our employees make use of state-of-the-art laboratories and test facilities, including a fully automated analytical lab – the first of its kind in the Americas. Employees provide direct support in a variety of areas: mineral processing, hydrometallurgy, analytical chemistry, mineralogy, process economics, mining and geology.   

 

Description Oversees the division planning function, this includes direct supervision of the planning staff and maintaining a strong working relationship with front line Supervisors, relative to planning responsibilities.  Responsibilities include ensuring effective job planning, scheduling, communication, preparations, staging, budget/forecasting, runtime forecasting, warehouse storage levels, and reporting. Directly supervise the division Planners and other planning department staffResponsible for setting meaningful objectives for the division Planners, developing and maintaining effective working relationships with front line supervisors, monitoring and quality control of planning processes through data measurement, ensuring adherence to all safety policies and procedure, etc.Instrumental in ensuring that operational excellence is achieved in all maintenance activitiesSupport the Superintendent's success in ultimate safe job outcome and overall departmental effectivenessApply personal expertise and knowledge while managing planning/scheduling processes to ensure appropriate daily, short term, and long range planning and scheduling techniques are followed and executed properlyEnsure quality control in the application of planning processes and proceduresPay special attention to preparation, communication, facilitation of intradepartmental activities and requirements, daily transaction requirements, and post job follow upDrive the divisional "Runtime Forecasting" process execution and outcomes by:overseeing the development of detailed monthly plans for each area,facilitating a productive reconciliation meeting with all mine stakeholdersconducting a success-against-plan analysis each monthCollate and prepare division planning budget recommendations for the SuperintendentEnsure budget, forecast costs, parts availability and overall materials management processes etc. are in line with expectationsSpend time in the field providing review of job preparation, execution, and follow upEnsure that pre-job and post-job requirements are consistently accomplished to Freeport-McMoRan standardsProvide adequate and timely feedback to division Superintendent on planning processes and schedulesPerform other duties as requestedQualifications

Minimum Qualifications

 

High School diploma or GED and eight (8) years of progressive maintenance experience in mining/mfg or industrial operations, including five (5) years in a leadership or supervisory role ORAssociates in a technical field and six (6) years related experience in field maintenance in mining/mfg or industrial operations, including three (3) years in a leadership or supervisory role ORBachelor's degree in applicable field and four (4) years of progressive maintenance experience in mining/mfg or industrial operations including supervisory or lead experienceRequires strong mentoring capabilities in the areas of: leadership, professionalism, organization/technical skills, etc.Knowledge of supervisory methods and techniquesRequires extensive working knowledge of Freeport-McMoRan standards, practices, and strategies.Requires extensive knowledge and experience in SAP, including all maintenance, operations, statistics, general, and related modules, tables, and files; and familiarity with other software related to maintenance functions and systemsSkilled in resolving day-to-day questions/problems regarding equipment, materials, methods and procedures needed to complete projects.Skilled in budget preparation, monitoring and administrationRequires competency in use of MS Office softwareRequires significant project organization experienceThorough understanding of the parts/materials management process, as well as, the SAP parts inventory processAble to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with staff from various levels throughout the organizationAble to develop and maintain strong positive working relationshipsAbility to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautionsSkilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards

 

Preferred Qualifications Industrial Mechanical and/or Electrical experienceAbility to travel to different mine sites on a regular basis

What We Offer You  

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $82,000-$113,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.    What We Require
