Welcome to Applied R&D, Fermented Dairy Alternatives Our area is crucial for Novonesis' work to develop more sustainable foods. We are responsible for Dairy Alternatives applications and work with the development of new bacterial cultures and enzymes within our primary focus for fermented dairy alternatives, especially new yogurt and cheese analogues. In addition, we help our customers to use enzymatic and microbial solutions in their production facilities in close cooperation with our local sales teams worldwide. You will be part of a diverse team of scientists and technicians located in our state-of-the-art innovation center in Hørsholm, Denmark. Our team is passionate about making a difference in dairy alternatives and apply a structured and entrepreneurial approach to engage on industry-relevant innovation with customers. Furthermore, you will work closely with other application specialists, R&D and commercial teams to develop innovative applications using biology-based solutions (biosolutions). In this role you’ll make an impact by: As Senior or Principal Application Scientist, you will be responsible for securing that we initiate and deliver on the right innovation projects, both internally and in close collaboration with industrial and academic partners. In this specific role, you will be responsible for building competencies and solutions to create the next generation of fermented plant-based cheese alternatives in close collaboration with other application specialist and technicians using your unique skills on microbes, enzymatic and application expertise. Your primary responsibilities: + Technical leadership in new product development projects, including related competency development within plant-based cheese alternatives + Proactive driving collaboration projects within cheese alternative applications with a specific focus on microbes and enzymes for flavor development + Actively contributions to portfolio- and pipeline building within responsible application area + Handling technical request and leading projects from customers - prioritizing, planning, executing, and deploying results and knowledge generated + Managing daily tasks together with technicians and prioritizing tasks in our Application Technology Center To succeed you must hold: We are looking for a dynamic team player with: + Educational background within food science, engineering, microbiology at M.Sc. or PHD level + Passion and hands-on experience with applied science and plant-based cheese applications with a proven track record for implementation of biosolutions in industrial manufacturing processes + Direct experience with food prototype development and working with enzymes and cultures in complex matrices with other ingredients and diverse raw materials + Particular knowledge on developing and evaluating biosolutions to improve sensorial parameters with biochemical profiling as a benefit + Desire to engage with your colleagues and many internal and external stakeholders in a multi-cultural and entrepreneurial organization + A customer focused mindset with excellent communication and collaboration skills, and a strong desire to consolidate and share technical knowledge #LI-hybrid Could our purpose be yours?
