As Senior Optical engineer you will drive the definition, design, and qualification of the optical systems embedded in our video products. This will include collaboration with the webcam engineering team, with the technology office, and regular interaction with our external suppliers to inform design choices based on market needs and latest innovation. You will also monitor market trends, conduct competition analysis and inform innovation roadmap for optical systems. Your technical background and experience allow you to make recommendations, discuss them with a team of seasoned engineers, and drive successful implementation. You are passionate about products and delivering amazing experiences to enhance the life of millions of people as they create and interact everyday with digital content.

Collaborate with Project/program managers, product managers and product designers to understand and establish product’s requirements

Propose innovative and cost effective solutions adapted to users requirements and portfolio needs

Take part actively in competitor product evaluation, new technology testing, and new technology developments in the fields of optics

Contribute to the hardware system architecture of new product

Optimize current portfolio of optical system and support on-going production

Design new optical system based on new product requirement

Leverage optical simulation tools to design optical system for video sensors

Qualify new optical system including tooling parts

Strong hand on experience in design, implementation and debugging of production line

Work closely with suppliers, design partners, and factories to meet cost, schedule, and customer experience requirements

Key Qualifications:

For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and experiences to our team:

Fluent with 3D modeling SW (ProE, …) 

Fluent with optical design tools (Zemax)

Able to conduct optical simulation and propose adequate solutions meeting requirements using SW such as Trace Pro

Strong cross functional knowledge in mechanical engineering, sensor selection, as well as a good understanding in embedded firmware

Advanced Knowledge of quality tools such as DFMEA, DFMA, PSS and tolerance analysis

Ability to identify key requirements for a new product, formalize them into technical requirements and propose cost effective solutions to deliver outstanding performance

Ability to manage multiple tasks across projects and innovation activities

Ability to travel internationally

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of experience in the video industry (webcam, security camera, camera, …)

Education:

Bachelor or Master in Mechanical /Optical/ Physical Engineering or equivalent
