Senior Operations Program Manager, MFN, 3P Marketplace

Amazon South Africa Marketplace Team is looking for a talented Senior Operations Program Manager to lead operational improvements across our Merchant Fulfillment Network (MFN) along with the overall product and program strategy for MFN in South Africa. MFN includes a variety of programs in which Amazon works hand in hand with a wide range of Sellers to ship products from their warehouses. This role focuses on the enablement and standardization of processes across MFN operations. It focuses on creating and executing solutions through the automation of tools that will help the operations front-line team deliver faster and achieve better results. A Senior Operations Program Manager has a mix of technical and project management abilities, the person in this role has to not only execute daily, time-sensitive processes, but also report on metrics and progress to leadership, propose standardization and improvements through lean techniques, and define the strategy and overall product roadmap for MFN. Key job responsibilities * Establish clear goals, metrics, and processes to track and improve program progress and outcomes * Develop, implement and automate new and existing processes in a standardized and scalable format, while leveraging global resources to drive improvement based on local needs * Partner with cross-functional teams to plan and execute external fulfillment solutions * Presenting operational metrics regularly to the leadership team * Problem solving for closing gaps between performance and goals * Works with key business partners including Transportation, Product, and World Wide fulfillment channel teams among others * Identify key operational areas for improvement based on data and develop and execute solutions with the team * Develop the MFN strategy including Easy Ship and Self Ship with the team * Lead setting up regular reporting processes and meetings with relevant stakeholders and leadership to review performance and way forward We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations: Cape Town, ZAF Basic Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in (Industrial) Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field - Experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Manufacturing and/or in any transferable project management - Experience and understanding start-up operations - Experience working cross functionally with tech and none-tech teams - Experience in defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics - Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization - Knowledge in Excel at an advanced level Preferred Qualifications - Master’s degree in (Industrial) Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field - Strong data analysis skills - Ability to produce, interpret and draw conclusions from data - Knowledge in SQL at an advanced level Amazon is an equal opportunities employer, and we value your passion to discover, invent, simplify and build.
