Senior Operations Manager
The SR Production Manager is responsible for the Safety, Quality, Delivery and Productivity for our high-speed, high-volume manufacturing department. This includes organizing and directing manufacturing activities across shifts including providing leadership, direction and facilitation of Production Supervisors and Teams in close coordination with Maintenance, Quality ,Planning and Warehousing to achieve operational goals.
Shift and Schedule: This position will be working 1st Shift. Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as necessary.
Compensation:This is an exempt, salaried position paid on a biweekly cycle. Compensation is flexible and determined by the candidate's experience level.
Position Responsibilities
Establish a proactive safety culture of zero incidents while promoting and ensuring the completion of safety trainings and programs.Direct all departmental related activities to ensure the timely execution of the production schedule to meet production and service goals through day-to-day execution.Manage departmental quality requirements ensure food safety and product quality.Create the basis for continuous improvement and employee empowerment by ensuring that standardized work and processes are followed, needed adjustments are implemented and the area is compliant with safety and 5-S requirements. Develop a plan to progress the TPM program based on the KDP playbook.Determines optimum staffing model for the line operations. Provide effective cross training and development for a flexible workforce.Promote team engagement and morale adhering to KDP values. Ability to generate enthusiasm, commitment, and performance from others in the quest to develop high performance teams.Have a track record of successful continuous improvement initiatives and results, with a focus upon lean manufacturing and 5S. Lead and support Focused Improvement events to ensure expected OEE is met/exceeded.Lead site incident management (with support from Corporate QEHS) with regards to food safety, environmental compliance and safety. Examples include FDA Recall, OSHA and EPA notifications.Communicate goals and objectives, apply company policy, coach, administer discipline, and ensure positive employee relations. Bachelor’s degree preferred; technical degrees (Engineering/technology) preferred. Others considered with relevant experience.5 years of experience in a management/supervisory role in a manufacturing environmentExperience with lean, kaizen/six sigma events and driving lean transformation with proven results and in a manufacturing environment (5S, Autonomous Maintenance, Visual Factory Management, and leading Kaizen events)Computer skills including Excel, PowerPoint, and ability to understand basic statistics.Demonstrated work experience of team building and developmentSelf-starter, able to work with minimal supervision.Strong time management skills.Strong oral and written communication skills.Able to handle multiple and conflicting priorities.
