We are looking for a Senior Network Security Engineer to improve our information security posture at CoStar Group. The scope of responsibility spans an 85 office WAN (including SD-WAN, Wi-Fi, route, switch, and firewall), highly scaled physical colocation data centers with route, switch, firewall, LTM, GTM), multi-cloud networking (VPCs, VNets, CDN, GTM, AWS TG, ANF, K8s networking, mesh service networking) and zero trust privileged network access. You will communicate and reinforce security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences across the CoStar Enterprise.
The ideal candidate possesses several years of hands-on senior level experience in either office WAN/LAN security OR (data center AND cloud networking environments) in large software environments. Successful candidates will be self-starter motivated to learn new technologies and tools and assist in moving security forward as it is implemented within the CoStar Enterprise.
This position is located in Arlington, VA or Richmond, VA and is onsite Monday – Thursday, option to work from home on Friday.
Responsibilities
Audit existing network designs and configurations and champion improvementsEvaluate firewall change requests – both on-premise and cloudDesign, enforce, and audit policy for various blades of a Next Generation Firewall (NGFW), load balancers, routers, switches, Wi-Fi controllers, etc.Tune and update Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS)Use security tools to test and detect vulnerability issues and coordinate remediationPerform security review and ensure proper monitoring/logging - including permissions of users, open ports/services, and overall network setup Collaborate with threat management on detection engineering of network telemetryConduct threat hunting in the CoStar enterprise Participate in 24x7 on-call rotationFollow, develop, and improve network and security configuration policies, standards, and proceduresAssist with the move towards a zero-trust methodologyStrengthen AWS network security posture on east/west and north/south traffic.Lead the creation of a secure and automated certificate management solutionUplift network protocols and cipher suites across the enterpriseUplift DNS security including Email DNS security (DMARC, SPF)Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited, not for profit university or college. A track record of commitment to prior employers 4 Total years of experience across network engineering and/or cybersecurity, with a minimum of at least 2 years of experience in each.Proficient in a scripting or programming language (Terraform, Python, Perl, PowerShell, Ansible, Cloud Formation, etc.)At least one certification in either security or networking such as SANS/GIAC, CISSP, CCNA, CCNP, etc.What’s in it for You
