Role Objective

To assist in the provision of high standard technical support and service delivery as per operating level agreements.

Key purpose is to manage 24/7 availability and maintenance of the Network Infrastructure to support business objectives

The role also includes the delivery of key network infrastructure projects.

This role sits within the South Africa Network team, which is part of IT Infrastructure at Capita. It is shift based with a requirement for providing on-call cover outside of shift hours.  Although the role is focused on South Africa network infrastructure, it requires engagement with Capita UK and India counterparts to manage end to end network stability

Minimum Qualification:

Grade 12 or equvalentCCNA certification (Essential) CCNP certification (Preferably)Firewall & Security knowledge

Minimum Experience:

5 to 9 years of enterprise network administrationRouting, Switching and Firewall experience.Experience in PCI environment preferred.

Primary Responsibilities:

24 x 7 support for network infrastructureImplementing & Management of Local Area network (LAN).implementation & Management of Wide Area network (WAN).Configuration of Firewalls. Responsible for Network fault diagnosis and resolutionAbility to Manage the LAN Network using the latest Network devices Cisco 9500, 9200, 2960-X switches. Configuration & management of LAN Network using STP & Security protocols

Hardware & Software Maintenance

To assist with periodic reviews of all network operating systems in order to ensure they fall in line with recommended vendor requirements.

Security

Ensure URL protection adheres to company standardsHands-on knowledge on configuration & implementation of changes on Firewall.Needs to work closely with InfoSec and Compliance to ensure implementation and management of IPS/IDS, DDoS and URL protection.

Availability and Capacity Management

To assist in providing information to the client regarding the general performance of the network.Ensure Network is available 24x7x365.Responsible for Network uptime.

Project Work

Contribute to Network elements of infrastructure projectsImplementation of Local Area Network (LAN) & Wide Area Network (WAN)Management of Firewalls.Setup of new office Network / Setup of new floor Network in existing office.Contribution to High Level and Low Level design documents and diagrams
