Position: Senior Network & Data Center Engineer
Location: Palo Alto or Redwood City, CA (Onsite – daily at either location)
Length: 6+ months

Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Network & Data Center Engineer to manage critical components of their corporate network and co-location capabilities. This role focuses on the ongoing administration, monitoring, and optimization of a global network infrastructure. You will work alongside a global operations team and play a pivotal role in the planning, design, and implementation of new network and data center capabilities, ensuring high availability, security, and compliance across our systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to): Oversee network and data center operations to ensure continuous, secure, and reliable network performance across on-premises and co-location environments. Provision, install, and configure various network infrastructure components, including Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, Juniper Mist, and AWS Cloud, ensuring robust operations. Design and implement network architectures to support evolving business requirements. Conduct regular network performance assessments and optimize speed, efficiency, and reliability. Manage network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems to safeguard organizational data. Collaborate with vendors and service providers to maintain optimal network service levels and reliability. Perform network capacity planning and scalability assessments to accommodate growth and new technologies. Implement and manage network monitoring tools for proactive issue detection and resolution. Lead and manage network-related projects, ensuring timely execution and adherence to budget. Stay up to date with emerging network technologies and recommend new solutions as needed. Oversee the installation and maintenance of data center environmental systems such as cooling, power distribution, and UPS systems to ensure operational uptime. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Minimum 8 years of experience in network and data center operations, with hands-on experience managing network infrastructure and environmental systems. Proficient in network components including Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, Juniper Mist, and AWS Cloud. Strong understanding of network architecture (i.e., WAN, LAN, VPN, IPSEC, WiFi, and CNAPP). Extensive experience in network security, including the management of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and VPNs. Proven ability to perform network performance assessments and optimization. Experience with data center environmental systems, including UPS and PDU management. Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for resolving network issues. Excellent project management experience, particularly in network-related initiatives. Knowledge of industry standards and compliance requirements for network and data center operations. Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, or similar are highly desirable. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, vendors, and service providers. Physical ability to handle data center equipment and work in environments with varying noise levels and temperatures. POST-OFFER BACKGROUND CHECK IS REQUIRED.
