We are seeking a Senior Medical Lab Scientist – Transfusion Services/Blood Bank to:

Perform testing in the clinical laboratories (any complexity) and responsible for the daily oversight of the Blood Bank. Perform, review, and advise advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and problem resolution. Demonstrate strong decision-making and multi-tasking skills, work independently, and the ability to lead and participate in teaching/training activities in the department.   Work as an effective team member as demonstrated by good relations with physicians, clinic staff, and co-workers.

This is a full-time, 1st shift position. Weekend and holiday rotation required.   Hours may vary based on department needs.   Situations may occur that require working hours other than your primary shift hours to ensure adequate coverage to provide remarkable care.

Must have a minimum of a Bachelor's of Science degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution; or meet other provisions defined in 42CFR493.1489(b)(2)(B)(4) or 42CFR493.1489(b)(2)(B)(5)(i) for personnel performing high complexity testing on or before April 24. 1995 (refer to the CLIA regulations for more details).  Must have a minimum of four years of technical experience that includes two years of blood bank experience. MT/MLS(ASCP) certification required.  SBB preferred.  Prior supervisory experience preferred.
