Qualifications

Mandatory:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical (HVAC) or Building services.

Strong knowledge of design software (e.g. Revit) and calculation software (HAP, Trane Trace, IES etc.)

Minimum of 5+ year experience in HVAC engineering is required.

Strong English language skills.

Strong French language Proficiency at least intermediate level

Comprehensive knowledge of national, international, and local codes and standards.

Good understanding of energy and sustainability regulations and industry best practices.

Proven ability to innovate and develop creative solutions to complex HVAC design challenges. They should be adept at problem-solving and have a track record of implementing new technologies, techniques, or design methodologies to improve HVAC system performance and efficiency.

Good planning, organizational, and communication skills are necessary for success in this position.

Implementation of quality procedure to ensure a good design deliverable.

Comprehensive leadership skills and previous experience in managing large-scale projects.

Very strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are important for collaborating with clients, architects, project managers, and other stakeholders throughout the design process.

Candidate to show out-of-the box thinking in order to identify any opportunities for automation or innovation.

Good understanding of energy efficiency, sustainability, indoor quality, acoustics.

Knowledge of BREEAM, LEED and other certifying organizations is appreciated.

Nice to have:

Masters degree in Mechanical (HVAC), or Building services. Expertise in energy efficiency, sustainability is appreciated. Expertise in indoor air quality is appreciated. Affiliation to professional organizations.
