We are looking for a talented Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Nordson EFD product design team. In this role you will be responsible for designing, developing, and debugging mechanical hardware on electro-mechanical systems and plastic consumable parts used in precision fluid dispensing for advanced manufacturing processes and medical fluid handling. You will work on complex hardware-software interaction problems that require strong analytical and data driven approaches to make our products smarter, connected, and intelligent.
How YOU will make an impact:
Lead mechanical design of electro-mechanical actuators, sensors, machined/molded/sheet-metal components and overall packaging on our products taking it from concept to production launch. Work with external vendors and partners to optimize design and augment internal capabilities.Perform tolerance analysis, run FEA and create design of experiments using scientific methods.Create design verification and validation plans, oversee execution of tests, analyze results, debug failures, and implement corrective actions.Provide design support to sustain current products during quality escalations or supply chain disruptions.Qualifications To Be Successful:
5 years’ experience in electro-mechanical product development.Strong analytical skills and engineering fundamentals in solid mechanics, materials, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, mechanism design (using 3D CAD Solidworks), and manufacturing processes.Ability to craft clear engineering documentation (2D drawings, standard operating procedures, ECOs)Have creatively and collaboratively solved problems with experience in failure analysis, root cause investigation, Design of Experiments and FMEA.Strong communications skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate with a global team.Bachelors in Mechanical engineering.What We Offer:
