The SM, IS&T Partners reports directly to the Vice President - IS&T Partners. This position is a critical role to represent IS&T as the primary liaison (Business Relationship Manager - BRM) to all departments within GEG. Responsible to define, justify, and deliver IT services and project investments that enable achievement of short and long-term business objectives and advance the company’s capabilities to provide competitive advantage, while effectively leveraging the broader IT community of internal and external providers to successfully deliver those projects and services.
Typical responsibilities may include providing thought leadership on strategic direction, facilitating the process to collect and define BU requirements, providing expert advice and recommendations on industry trends and best practices, creating roadmaps to achieve the long and short-term capability needs of the BU or Function, performing analysis on business or systems processes to identify improvements and/or calculate cost/benefit data, and to develop detailed project value propositions/charters.
Lead/influence cross-functional teams experienced in critical business processes and enabling technologies. Business community relationship building, influencing, prioritizing, and solution scoping to improve business processes, data quality and current solution usage/leverage. Serves both as single point of IT accountability to Business Unit/Function, and single voice of BU/Function demand for Global IT Solutions. Actively engages business to realize solution benefits/results. This is a Business leadership and a growth focus role with an IT Lens.
Primary Responsibility Assist to identify and evaluate the latest technology and tools to improve the user experience of the key systems such as HR, Finance, Procurement and other functional areas within the Partner’s scope Assist to execute the long-term information systems strategy, propose solutions to clients’ business and operational enquiries Assist the BU/Function in submitting an SCR to formally trigger resource assignments and the start of the IS&T governance process Collect initial, high-level user requirements from project stakeholders; work with Solutions and AppDev team to assist in system analysis and estimation Facilitate alignment between Functions and IS&T teams, where needed, to agree on prioritization and delivery schedules Monitor status of project deliverables, anticipate problems which may impact results, and help resolve issues to drive progress to agreed schedules Work closely with Solutions and AppDev team to ensure the quality and timely delivery of project tasks Assist in managing the performance of vendors to ensure the agreed standard and service quality Work closely with Application Support to stay aware of key system usage and support trends/pain-points to assist in communication and continuous improvement of operational efficiency Any ad-hoc projects Requirements Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, computer engineering, systems analysis, or a related study, or equivalent experience 10+ years of project engagement management experience 10+ years of experience in the technology profession focused on IT application design and delivery (on-prem and SaaS, custom apps) 5+ years program and project management experience, including estimating and forecasting, budget and financial management, staffing / hiring and resource management Proven track record of managing IT/business relationship and interacting with mid to senior business executives Experience in managing projects using external and internal resources including onshore and offshore Proven ability to translate business requirements into solutions that map to technology capabilities Ability to provide cross-functional leadership in a matrix organization to ensure project objectives and deadlines are met Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an exceptional ability to communicate in English.
