Senior Manager, Trips - Air Business and Strategy

The Traveler Business Team has a mission to deliver the most convenient, rewarding, and memorable ways for people to travel and explore the world. This division has responsibility to build and drive the growth of our global consumer business across our Expedia, Hotels.com, Vrbo, and Portfolio brands, and across all our lines of businesses including Hotels, Vacation Rentals, Air, Car, Packages, and Insurtech.

Introduction to team

The Trips division works to identify and implement the strategic direction to drive growth for Expedia’s B2C Air business. Your role within this team will be to monitor P&L performance and key metrics, recommend and implement both strategic & tactical investment priorities (product, supply, marketing channel resourcing, pricing optimization) and drive alignment and optimization across these functional teams to action on opportunities.

In this role you will:

Provide performance insights, strategic recommendations and coordination across all the relevant contributing areas, supporting the implementation of key business initiatives end to end. 

Drive business performance of the Expedia Brand Air Business Unit to deliver the annual plan.

Support the Brand Expedia Trips Leadership Team by delivering comprehensive views on overall business performance, initiatives and other priorities.

Drive strategy and coordination across traveler product, marketing efforts (Brand, CRM, Loyalty, Performance search, etc) and supply.

Identify high impact initiatives, evaluate trade-offs, and lead cross functional teams across Expedia Group to enable execution for successful outcomes, e.g., optimizing investment strategy to align profitability with growth and marketplace needs

Lead regular and frequent interactions with senior leadership across the organization and maintain strong alignment and cross-functional partnerships to ensure that the Air business is well planned, understood, communicated, and effectively executed.

Education and qualifications:

You have a Bachelor's in Business Management, Economics, Finance, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience; MBA preferred 

Demonstrable experience in business management (B2C ecommerce/marketing, P&L) and/or business strategy or strategy consulting, preferably in the ecommerce or technology space

You are a demonstrated Program Manager with the ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence and align stakeholders to achieve successful business outcomes

Experienced in developing data-driven processes and frameworks to enable actionable decision making 

Motivated by goal achievement and continuous improvement, with enthusiasm and strive to motivate your team and the wider organization 

Able to work in close partnership and build effective relationships with peers and other cross functional stakeholders to deliver Expedia Group-maximizing outcomes

Able to succinctly synthesize complex problems with excellent written and oral communication skills
