Practice Area

BCG’s Public Sector practice helps governments and agencies in their efforts to maximize public- policy outcomes. Our work with government clients offers unique opportunities to shape the future of public sector reform across the world. We work with some of the most senior and influential people in government all over the world. The global Public Sector Practice was established in September 2009 so it is one of BCG’s newest and fastest growing practices. Although the Public Sector is an industry practice area, our value proposition to public sector clients draws deeply on capabilities right across our functional and industry practices - such as energy, health care, consumer (transport), organisation, corporate development (privatisation), operations and digital business models (Digital Ventures).

What You'll Do

As a Senior Manager – BCG Vantage you will support proposals and cases as a domain expert helping drive strong impact with clients. While contributing to client cases and proposals, occasional travel to serve clients onsite during staffing assignments is expected to understand client requirements, and design / develop solutions.

Additionally, as a Senior Manager – BCG Vantage, you will support commercialization efforts for the topic/sector working, in conjunction with business leaders, providing insights & advice for proposals and client workshops. You will lead development of intellectual property & assets for the business and mentor and guide junior colleagues based on your topic/sector expertise.

Your work within our Defense & Security topic will primarily focus on supporting our engagement with U.S. Federal Government clients, providing expertise and insights on defense and security-related topics such as Acquisition/Procurement, Sustainment/Readiness, Organizational Transformation, Space, Artificial Intelligence, Digital Innovation and Cybersecurity.

What You'll Bring

• 5+ years consulting experience in relevant Defense & Security topic required; candidates with consulting experience preferred
• In lieu of consulting experience, 7+ years minimum industry experience required; 10-12+ years of industry experience strongly preferred
• Bachelor's Degree required (advanced degree preferred)
• Detailed Knowledge of U.S. Federal Government acquisition/procurement and contracting processes and statutes required, (e.g., FAR, DFARS, Adaptive Acquisition Framework, etc.)
• Prior military or civilian service in U.S. Department of Defense-acquisition or contracting positions strongly preferred
• Familiarity with and skill in using DACIS and related contract information systems strongly preferred
• Excellent interpersonal communication and client handling skills
• Fluency in English
• Self-starting and entrepreneurial spirit

Who You'll Work With

As a Senior Manager – BCG Vantage, you will work face to face with clients and with BCG Project Leaders, Associates and Consultants. In the period between cases, you will collaborate with global topic leads and colleagues across BCG to bring expertise and capabilities to the service of our internal and external clients. Research (Practice Topic and Sector-Aligned Research and Insights)
• Delivers actionable research and insights tailored to the client project’s needs; works with qualitative and quantitative data, conducts research and provides synthesized results from sources including commercial data, public and open source, company and industry research, macro-economic, commodities and trade data.

Total compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, contributions to BCG's Profit Sharing and Retirement Fund (PSRF), and a market leading benefits package described below.

Some local governments in the United States require job postings to include a reasonable estimate of base compensation. We expect your total annualized compensation to be approximately the following:

· In Washington DC and Chicago, the base salary is between $163,900- $167,700 (USD); placement within this range will vary based on experience and skill level

· In other locations, competitive pay is commensurate with the role and geography

· Annual discretionary performance bonus between 0-30%

· 5% Profit Sharing Retirement Fund (PSRF) contribution, increasing to 10% after two years of service. Contributions are vested immediately and there is no waiting period.
