Position Summary:
The Senior Manager, U.S. Label & Launch Operations, Channel Operations is responsible for managing the operational processes associated with product labeling updates in the U.S. market. This role will define, drive, and execute the label updates across therapeutic areas to ensure compliance with prescribing information and is responsible for overseeing coherence across tactics of all brands.
The role works closely with the Brand Teams, Commercial Regulatory Affairs, Worldwide Commercialization Excellence (WCE) and the cross-functional teams on strategy and execution of all label updates across various channels.
The role will manage a team of contingent workers that are responsible for supporting channel operations (channel operation managers). The team will be responsible for the seamless implementation of updated labeling across all active brands.
This is an important role within U.S. Commercialization Strategy & Operations Organization and key to Bristol Myers Squibb’s ambition to continue advancing the efficient and expeditious execution of label update strategy and operations. In this position, this individual will report directly to the Associate Director, U.S. Label & Launch Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Track day-to-day multi-channel tactics from kick-off to delivery for label updates: Overseeing the execution of label updates across various channels, ensuring adherence to BMS standards.
Drive strategy and rollout of label updates: Collaborating with Commercial Regulatory Affairs Advisors to create and implement strategies for label updates.
Champion projects through medical, legal, regulatory review (PReP): Managing label update projects from prioritization to completion, ensuring smooth execution and compliance through the PReP process.
Create and refine accurate lists of tactics requiring label update: Identifying and managing all relevant tactics across channels for timely label updates.
Create presentations for key stakeholders: Communicating the strategy and status of operations to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
Deliver on the accurate QC and approval of materials: Ensuring that all materials meet quality standards and are approved for production.
Identify, create, and implement efficiencies and innovations: Continuously improving processes to drive greater efficiencies and innovation within the Label & Launch Operations
Lead label update communications: Proactively gathering and disseminating information to ensure timely and accurate communications.
Drive alignment meetings and status updates with agencies, third-party vendors, and stakeholders: Ensuring all parties are aligned and informed about the progress and updates for label-related projects.
Lead relationship-building with production agencies: Managing day-to-day operations with external partners to ensure smooth workflows and alignment with organizational needs.
Tightly manage all timelines and ensure creative assets are delivered to the production agency in the correct format and on time: Managing project timelines and ensuring the timely delivery of assets to third-party agencies.
Manage projects in Veeva Vault: Overseeing the management of label update projects within Veeva, developing systems to streamline workflow for active tactics.
Prepare strategy and communication decks: Creating decks to communicate strategy, progress, and key dates to stakeholders.
Actively monitor budgets for multi-channel tactics: Overseeing the financial aspects of label updates, ensuring proper budget tracking during annual, semi-annual, and day-to-day operations.
Closely manage the approval of estimates and Purchase Orders: Ensuring that all budget-related estimates and Statements of Work (SOWs) are accurately approved and monitored.
Define roles for Channel Operations Managers team members: Assigning tasks and responsibilities to ensure the effective distribution of workload within the team.
Create and provide training to Channel Operations Managers: Developing training programs to ensure team members are equipped with necessary knowledge to execute tasks efficiently.
Lead Label & Launch Operations team in Associate Director’s absence: Acting as the leader for the team in the absence of the Associate Director, ensuring operations continue smoothly.
Develop subject matter expertise of brands and updates: Becoming the go-to expert on each brand and its updates to prescribing information, facilitating swift review and approval processes.
Manage master SharePoint Grid: Organizing and managing the master SharePoint Grid to track all relevant information for cross-functional teams.
Qualifications & Experience:
Exemplary project management background.
Strong understanding of the key steps involved in the creation of print and digital tactics through multi-channel deployment.
Experience working in a multi-channel environment and ability to work in a matrix team setting
Ability to navigate complex and continually evolving organizational environments.
Excellent project and program management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
Ability to manage financial budgets for a large portfolio of various marketing tactics, including but not limited to estimates and invoices and ability to efficiently track multiple budgets.
Strong leadership skills and experience in managing teams through heavy workloads and competing deadlines.
Experience working with leadership and communicating directly with senior leaders.
Ability to learn new technology and systems quickly.
Multi-year experience working in project management systems specific to pharmaceutical companies.
Minimum level of education: Bachelor’s degree.
Pharmaceutical experience required
