Join us and we can make a difference together. **About this position** Carrier’s **Sr Manager, Transportation Operations Projects** is a highly visible role reporting to the Director of Transportation North of America HVAC. This position leads a team of logistics professionals specializing in transportation project management. Responsibilities include overseeing strategic transportation project initiatives, achieving cost savings and enhanced customer experiences, monitoring track and trace systems, and driving continuous improvement using lean problem-solving techniques. The successful candidate will exhibit strong leadership, integrity, and attention to detail to achieve positive business results, while organizing and managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously to ensure high-level service and accuracy. Requirements include proven experience in team leadership and project management, the ability to quickly identify and remove obstacles, implement best practice improvements, demonstrated success in building high-performing teams, and strong organizational and multitasking abilities. **Key Responsibilities:** + Lead and complete strategic cross-functional transportation projects, including TMS (Transportation Management System) and EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) implementations, P44 (Project 44) track and trace, cost reduction, freight under management, continuous improvement, and other designated initiatives, ensuring projects are on-budget and on-time. + Improve and expand the use of our third-party vendor E2Open among Carrier’s suppliers to enhance in-house management of freight spend and improve track and trace functionality. + Drive the use of digital tools in our processes, including EDI, LBN, P44, TMS expansion, and Power BI, to enhance efficiency. + Monitor and manage transportation operations performance, set and achieve goals, and provide vision for the project management team. + Serve as a thought leader for transportation innovations and multi-modal strategies. + Achieve annual productivity goals set by management and ensure efficient transportation activities at all shipping facilities, including 3PLs. + Compile and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly metrics, implement corrective actions, and provide clear direction to employees to meet overall goals and objectives. + Develop and implement best-in-class work processes, analytics, delivery methods, service, and sustainability efforts, and lead cost savings projects across the network. + Mentor and develop the transportation project team, support employee growth and development, and ensure a solid talent pipeline and succession planning. + Foster teamwork and collaboration to meet workforce objectives. + Partner with North America distribution centers and factories to identify, evaluate, and implement improvement opportunities. + Set goals, establish priorities, manage resources, and review and report on project progress and results. + Apply continuous improvement tools to identify and eliminate root causes of issues. + Participate in teams, committees, events, and training to develop leadership and organizational growth and improvement. + Drive standard work, process improvement, and overall business performance. + Achieve financial objectives by executing an annual budget, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions. + Travel up to 40% in North America to support business projects. **Basic Qualifications** + Bachelor’s Degree of art or science. + 5+ years in transportation management. + 5+ years experience in at least 4 from the following transportation modes: (FTL: Full Truck Load, LTL: Less than Truck Load, Ocean, Small Parcel, Air, Intermodal.) + 5+ years leading a team of professional individual contributors. + 4+ years of project management experience. + Ability to travel up to 40% in the North of America. **Preferred Qualifications** **(assets)** + Experience with import and export processes and best practices. + Ability to navigate in fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy within a diverse organization. + Strong verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to influence multiple levels in the organization and make presentations. + Ability to make logical and accurate decisions using the best available information. + Ability to handle multiple priorities and anticipate needs. + Strong skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and integrated database systems. + Experience working in a TMS system in an operational/tactical environment with a strong understanding of transportation planning principles, technology applications (EDI and file transfers) and industry best-practices. + Demonstrate understanding of lean problem-solving principles with a track record of implementing these principles for continuous improvement. + Strong critical problem solving/analytical skills; ability to dissect, root cause, and apply corrective actions to complex problems using large sets of data. **Additional information** + Immigration sponsorship is not supported for this position RSRCAR \#LI-Hybrid **Carrier is An Equal** **Opportunity/Affirmative** **Action Employer.
