JOB SUMMARY:
Manages the mechanical, controls, and animation maintenance activities in area of responsibility. Develops and oversees all routine, capital, and expense budgeting and sets direction and priorities of all maintenance functions for the area of responsibility. Manages and leads supervisors and assistant managers to include continuous improvement, personal development, and administration in area of responsibility. Oversees system and component design changes, directs the activities of outside vendors and construction for all attraction additions and/or modifications. Oversees, revises, and implements the preventative and predictive maintenance programs to ensure compliance with OEM specifications and increased operational readiness and show quality. Develops, executes, and oversees TSAT action plans, safety plans and training plans specific to area of responsibility. Ensures guest safety and team member safety in all attractions within area of responsibility. Manages and administers the annual NDT requirements of all attractions in area of responsibility.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Reviews with staff annual, preventative, and predictive maintenance plans to ensure the capital investment is kept in like new condition. Sets improvement goals for the department, gives direction to ensure goals are met, and communicates all goals to the team. Ensures the safety of all guests and team members through a proactive approach in managing safety issues, the proper use of PPE, regular discussions with the team in regards to safety and continuous job safety analysis of all tasks.
+ Sets the priorities and oversees any modifications and/or engineering modifications to ensure timely completion of tasks. Analyzes operational performance of the attractions and manages priorities of maintenance activities.
+ Supervises and leads training and development of all direct reports in assigned area. Administers development plans on a regular basis and as required. Manages schedules and personnel records for direct reports. Ensures compliance to all Universal Orlando policies and procedures. Ensures safety is the top priority of assigned area for both guests and team members.
+ Ensures operational throughput requirements are supported on a daily basis. Coordinates work efforts with operational needs of the attractions, working directly with all affected departments to ensure the highest level of customer service.
+ Ensures all areas of responsibility are in compliance with ASTM F-24 guidelines as well as original manufacturer’s requirements.
+ Builds and manages routine budget for responsible area to include all expenses needed to achieve goals. Monitors overtime for responsible area, ensuring only used when absolutely necessary. Builds capital and expense plans for responsible area as required.
+ Develops, executes, and oversees safety plans specific to area of responsibility and in alignment with the Technical Services Ride & Show safety plan. Develops, executes, and oversees training plans for area of responsibility increasing the preparedness of the entire team. Develops, executes, and oversees TSAT action plans for area of responsibility driving increases in overall engagement.
+ Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
SCOPE:
Manages all maintenance activities for rides, shows, and guest interactive areas for specific area. Manages routine, expense and capital budgets for specific area. Leads and supervises all direct reports and manages all hourly personnel in specific area.
EDUCATION:
+ High school degree or GED: Required
+ Technical school: Preferred
+ Associate’s degree: Preferred (General Education or Technology)
+ Bachelor’s degree: Preferred (Mechanical/Electrical Engineering)
+ Master’s degree in: Not Required
EXPERIENCE:
+ 7 to 10 years’ experience in theme park Maintenance is required.
+ 7 to 10 years’ supervisory experience is required.
+ Four years manager, ride and show experience is preferred
+ Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
+ NAARSO level 1 certification is required.
+ NAARSO level 2 certification is preferred.
