Senior Manager, Shopper Insights

Job Overview:

The Senior Manager, Shopper Insights – is responsible for infusing the voice of the shopper and understanding of the omni path to purchase to influence strategies, executions and experiences for KDP brands & categories. This includes conducting and or leveraging the appropriate research (e.g. primary/custom, secondary), and data to develop a deep understanding of shopper attitudes, motivations and behaviors when considering or buying KDP categories and products. The ideal candidate should have experience in the principles of research design/execution, use and application of syndicated data and analytics, knowledge of the FMCG omni marketplace, and be expert in presenting and discussing research with internal and external audiences. Additional critical skills for this role include distilling insights and data into a compelling story to drive action, the ability to build credibility in the interpretation and application of research to business issues, and be highly skilled at collaborating with cross functional partners to utilize insights to influence strategy, retail selling stories, and support of other commercial needs.


Position is based in Burlington, Massachusetts. Hybrid, in-office 3 days/week. Travel up to 15%

Essential Functions:

Drive the utilization of shopper insights to influence strategy development and execution with commercial partners e.g. sales, category management, channel strategy, commercialization, shopper marketing, revenue growth managementConsult key partners to understand business needs in order to recommend and design the appropriate research or data analysis to address the business situation or question and yield actionable insightsEffectively present findings and recommendations in a manner that demonstrates subject matter expertise and understanding of shoppers/shopping process and KDP business and operational complexitiesRepresent the voice of the shopper in an influential manner to help provide thought leadership with both internal and external (retail partners) audiencesContribute to the development of KDP Shopper Insight team and capability by helping to develop and share best practices, identify opportunities for standardization, stay abreast of industry and retail trends, new research methods and application, etc.Day-to-day job responsibilities will include: cross-functional partnership and project management, custom primary and secondary research, analysis of custom & syndicated data in support of strategic business objectives, socialization of research, cross-category and cross-channel engagement
Requirements:
BA/BS in a related field (Business, Marketing, Economics, Psychology, Sociology). MBA in Marketing or Marketing Research a plus.7+ years of shopper/consumer marketing research or marketing (client/manufacturer side preferred, but not required). Minimum 3+ years of experience in consumer package goods (CPG).Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience/proficiency with syndicated and panel data (Nielsen, IRI, Numerator etc.). Experience with data analytics/visualization a plus (Tableau, SPSS, SAS, PowerBI, marketsight/dynata).Ability to design, manage, analyze, and communicate primary market research related to a specific business question.Experience with deployment of the following types of research: quantitative and qualitative research, virtual shopping research, optimization/conjoint analysis, path-to-purchase, mobile surveys, ethnographies, positioning, segmentation, packaging, consumer tracking, and shelf testing.Self-Starter/Problem Solver with Strong Attention to Detail with Ability to Multi-Task.
