Make It Matter.** The Senior Manager, US Government Affairs will have responsibility for leading state government affairs as part of the Corporate and Government Affairs (CGA) team. As Senior Manager, CGA, U.S., you will have primary responsibility for supporting the US GA agenda for Mondelez International, including advocacy and advancement of the legislative and policy-related agenda affecting Mondelez’ reputation and business objectives with key stakeholders, including government officials, non-governmental organizations, trade associations, customers, and consumers. A passion for government relations, relationship building, and advocacy combined with an understanding of the legislative and regulatory landscape affecting the consumer-packaged goods industry, are critical success factors for this position. In this role, you will be responsible for developing policy positions specific to Mondelez International’s impact framework and goals, as well as serve as a key member of CGA team in driving the company’s CGA agenda, working closely with others within the North America and Global CGA team. This role reports to the Director, U.S. Government Affairs, Mondelēz International. The role will be based in one of the following markets: Emeryville, CA, Washington, D.C. or East Hanover, NJ (Hybrid) Requirements: + Build and increase relationships with external trade associations and industry coalitions to help influence and supplement direct advocacy efforts. + ​Develop and maintain relationships with key government officials, government staff, and external stakeholders at the local and state level. + Monitor and analyze current and proposed legislation and regulations to determine their impact on Mondelez International and our brand portfolio. + Research issues, draft policy position papers and provide updates to senior management. + Support Mondelēz International Political Action Committee (MDLZ PAC) efforts. + Schedule, prepare materials for, and arrange logistics of facility tours and events. + Support and engage in internal project teams and special assignments as needed. + Willing to travel as necessary to support CGA-related business needs and opportunities. **Qualifications** + Minimum 8+ years' work experience in government affairs, government or trade associations + High School Diploma required + equivalent work experience or bachelor's degree preferred. + Strong understanding of the legislative processes required. + Knowledge and familiarity with the issues facing the consumer-packaged good industry and familiarity with food and nutrition policy. + Excellent communications skills (verbal and written) + Self-starter, who takes own initiative + Ability to seek out different perspectives and work collaboratively The base salary range for this position is $137,300 to $188,825; the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
