OVERVIEW & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Senior Manager Production Finance is an important member of the MTVE/Showtime Production Finance team holding shared responsibility for delivering premium scripted content with budgets that are greater than $100M for linear and streaming platforms. Lead the production accounting and finance functions over the life cycle of production from development through post-production. The role requires a self-starter, who works autonomously as well as cross-functionally with other teams including Creative, Development, Production, Legal, Business Affairs, and Accounting and have a working knowledge of episodic/block budgeting, episodic/ block cost reporting and enhanced understanding of union/guild contracts for television and streaming platforms.
As part of an aligned finance team, the Sr. Manager is a key component in ensuring the integrity of cash expenditures and forecasts, tracking performance, running monthly expenditures and reviewing production related payments, managing related processes with internal team to complete operational tasks that ultimately drive informed decision-making.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Work with third party production companies to cashflow productions >$100M and cost report throughout the entire production cycle for linear and streaming platforms
- Serve as the main point of contact for in-house episodic shows with budgets >$100M with finance components, not limited to, single or multiple tax incentives structure, single and multi-currency usage with potential hedging, multiple domestic and international shoots requiring complex implementations
- Oversee the financial management of production accounting operations for budgets >$100M inclusive of directing studio resources, enforcing policies and procedures to ensure adherence to compliance, and driving on time deliverables
- Provide guidance and assistance with day-to-day workflow questions and facilitate resolution of issues
- Work with on location show production accountants to drive accurate, complete, and cost reporting and tracking of show assets and qualified tax incentive spend on a timely basis
- Contribute to the presentation of financial documents, with an emphasis on high impact spend tied to cash forecasting, development expenditures, production final costs, and financial reconciliation
- Generate and analyze financial reports and metrics to support monthly forecasts, variance analysis, and FP&A processes
- Prepare reports and executive summaries for senior management on monthly and quarterly basis
- Query and report on data from various internal financial systems
- Assist in developing and automating multi-layer reporting for long range planning and analytics
- Participate in significant ad hoc strategic projects to support financial opportunities that will drive business decisions
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Accounting, Finance, or related area
- 8+years' experience in production accounting, production finance, FP&A and/or other accounting role at a media company, studio or production company with $100M budgets
- Familiarity with production accounting systems (Smart Accounting Entertainment Partners or PSL Cast and Crew) and supporting systems for commitments and vendor payments
- Knowledge of financial principles, basic accounting and analyses
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (formulas, VLOOKUP, pivot tables)
- Union experience (DGA, SAG, etc)
- Ability to travel as needed
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with Oracle, SAP and/or Longview
- Lead multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- International productions and payroll experience a plus
- Complete goals and meet deadlines

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $98,400.00 - 140,000.00. The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
