Your New Role:

Global Privacy Services is a centralized team of privacy professionals who work alongside lawyers, product and data teams to drive compliance across the entire enterprise. The team provides services under five core functions: Privacy Projects and Operations, Privacy Compliance and Assurance, Privacy Service Center, Vendor Privacy and Privacy Technology.

We are currently seeking a Senior Manager, Privacy Compliance and Assurance to overseeing a privacy compliance function and execute global privacy compliance projects. This role includes collaborating with key stakeholders, interpreting legal requirements and supporting a diverse team to seamlessly integrate robust privacy practices into business operations.

Your Role Accountabilities:

PRIVACY COMPLIANCE

Lead and manage the work of a Hyderabad based compliance team, that rigorously assesses adherence to privacy regulations to reduce regulatory risk

Execute global privacy compliance projects and initiatives in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements. Regularly provide updates on status of projects to key stakeholders

Work with senior level stakeholders to proactively assess risk of new projects against existing compliance initiatives and recommend prioritization

Interpret privacy legal requirements and provide targeted guidance to internal team members and external partners to maintain compliance

Develop and roll-out actionable privacy guidance for remediations to reduce privacy and regulatory risk, enabling stakeholders to make necessary updates

Design and implement compliance test scripts and plans

Track and report on compliance using a unified set of compliance metrics to evaluate compliance effectiveness

Maintain compliance of digital tracking technologies used across the company’s digital properties, including SDKs, pixels, and cookies, including how these are deployed to comply with privacy standards and regulatory requirements

Interrogate and report on information in a centralized database around data use in WBD and its vendors

PRIVACY ASSURANCE

Enhance and sustain the WBD Privacy Governance Framework, comprising of the enterprise privacy common control framework and associated policies, standards and guidelines

Support internal audit processes and teams

Make continuous improvements to data inventory, tagging, flows and mapping across the enterprise

Help manage the library of standards and guidance for privacy, partnering with Legal, Data Governance and Brand Support functions to provide accurate and up-to-date guidance for businesses and engineering teams

Generate data extracts to support WBDs Records of Processing Activity (ROPA)

Regularly review and update privacy compliance procedures and tasks within the team to reflect changes in laws, regulations, and company strategy

Drive harmonization of processes globally

STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT

Work collaboratively with privacy professionals, lawyers, and product and technology stakeholders on data-driven governance and compliance initiatives across Warner Bros Discovery’s business.

Work with key stakeholders on enhancements to the enterprise common control framework

Partner closely with Data Governance, Privacy, Legal, Security and Technology teams

MANAGE A TEAM OF DATA & PRIVACY PROFESSIONALS

Oversee 2+ direct reports (permanent/temporary mix)

Train and support the privacy compliance team, ensuring high levels of competency and understanding of privacy regulations

Qualifications & Experiences:

Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience

5+ years professional experience in privacy

3+ years people management experience

Knowledge of industry-accepted privacy frameworks and privacy regulations (GDPR, CPRA, etc.)

Experienced with manipulating large data sets

Experience creating data maps

Experience driving compliance with data privacy standards, policies or projects

Exceptional organizational and project management skills and attention to detail    

In-depth knowledge of digital tracking technologies

MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams)

**Please note that this is a hybrid position. Working onsite 3 days per week is required.

Not Required but preferred experience:

Knowledge of and passion for media, entertainment, and technology industries (including key players, growth trends and drivers, new media models, industry structure, etc.)

Certifications such as: CIPP, CIPM, CIPT, CISM, CDPSE.

Experience with Data Catalog Tools or Privacy Platforms e.g. Collibra, OneTrust

Experienced reporting on large scale datastores e.g. Snowflake

Familiarity with streaming and similar products/services

Experience working across multiple timezones/locations

Hybrid Working - This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in-office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
