The Senior Manager of Executive Protection (EP) Operations will employ strong functional expertise to lead the development of long-term program strategies as well as short-term goals to drive the professionalization and formalization of Gap Inc.’s EP program while providing day-to-day oversight of the EP program. This position will be the primary point of contact for corporate leadership for management of all matters relating to the security of senior executive leadership.
Program Building:
Develop foundational standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the EP program
Establish proactive processes and protocols for the EP program in conjunction with key business partners such as the CEO’s office, Travel team, and others.
Working with internal business partners to assess needs and ensure the EP program is responsive to those needs
Team Leadership:
Day-to-day management of EP team members
Primary interface with vendors when leveraging third-party EP support for domestic and international trips, as necessary
Make intelligence-driven security recommendations to AP leadership and corporate leadership
Schedule and deploy EP team members for domestic and international protective assignments
Lead productive collaboration with Field AP teams when visiting their areas of operations
Coordinate with Events team to support large field-based initiatives, as appropriate
Travel and logistical coordination:
Primary interlocutor with the CEO’s office and the Senior Leadership Team to assess EP support needs and determine how to deploy available resources to support
Primary liaison with the Corporate Travel Team to coordinate logistical plans for EP team
Develop and implement security and logistical plans for domestic and international travel and appearances by senior executives.
Protective Intelligence
Lead the EP team in the conduct of protective intelligence activities to support the EP program to include pre-trip assessments, ongoing monitoring of threats, and liaison with key internal and external partners
Coordinate with the Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) to provide support for and guidance about leadership travel
Close Protection & Transportation
Provide close protection to senior executives, as needed
Provide secure transportation for senior executives utilizing evasive and/or defensive driving tactics, as needed.
Who You AreFive plus years’ experience conducting executive protection operations in public or private sector
Five plus years’ experience managing a team in a security capacity
Experience in program building to include drafting standard operating procedures (SOPs), and establishing key metrics to drive consistent program execution and strive for continuous improvement
Bachelor’s degree preferred
California CCW or willingness/ability to pursue
California BSIS Guard Card or willingness/ability to pursue
LEOSA HR 218 preferred
Must possess a current US Passport
Must have a valid US driver’s license with a clean driving record
Prior federal, state, or municipal law enforcement experience preferred
Exceptional written and oral communication skills with proven track record of generating trust and forming productive relationships with internal and external business partners
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
