Job Summary

The Opportunity

Reporting into the Director, of Clinical Information Services at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) the Epic Program Senior Manager will oversee the support, optimization and inform future transition plans for the full Epic application stack. This dynamic and pivotal role will direct the clinical and revenue cycle aspects of the Epic system, as well as key complementary applications, ensuring seamless integration and functionality to support our mission of providing exceptional patient care and advancing cancer research. Providing oversight to our digital front door product teams, the Senior Manager will lead the vendor selection and platform expansion execution to further optimize and expand the tools across our patient welcome center, clinical, administrative and marketing & communications teams. This role will be instrumental in leading the team through widespread system transition and conversion as well as the decoupling efforts, in collaboration with extensive multi-disciplinary teams and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Strategy:
• Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Epic Application Team, aligning IT initiatives with the Institute's clinical and operational goals.
• Lead the digital front door (Salesforce and other related applications) development and optimization execution
• Lead efforts to plan and execute new systems and team structures in support of our clinical collaboration and future hospital initiatives.

Team Development:
• Build and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Identify and address skill gaps to ensure the team is equipped to meet current and future challenges.

Project Portfolio Management:
• Oversee the planning, implementation, and optimization of Epic and related applications, ensuring prioritized projects are appropriately resourced, delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure thoughtful analysis, successful integration and adoption of new technologies.
• Lead vetting of and prioritization of projects, understand dependencies, and feasibility.

Stakeholder Engagement:
• Serve as a key liaison between IT, clinical, and revenue cycle departments, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
• Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into actionable IT solutions.

Continuous Improvement:
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance, user satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to ensure the Institute remains at the forefront of healthcare technology and aid in future-proofing technology in our new hospital efforts.



This leadership positions works with senior leadership to establish goals and objectives of a large team, or multiple teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree Computer Science required or Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study requiredMGB can consider experience in lieu of a degreeProgressive experience in digital/IT positions within relevant IT discipline. 8-10+ years required and Management/Leadership experience 3-5 years required8+ years of prior management experience in healthcare or a related field.At least 10 years Healthcare Integration experience required, especially at an academic medical facility or healthcare focused technology company.Experience with system and application integration patterns and processes currently in use at Dana-Farber and Mass General Brigham is highly desirable.Epic experience across multiple modules desired.Proficient with Microsoft tools such as Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Azure Devops, etc.


Extensive experience in project management and/or service management methods.
