Senior Manager, Energy Policy and Regulatory Affairs
CyrusOne is looking for a talented, innovative, and connected individual to advocate the company’s objectives on energy policy and infrastructure issues across the Americas. The Senior Manager, Energy Policy and Regulatory Affairs will be a key contributor in the development of CyrusOne’s policy positions and advocacy strategy, and coordinate the team's advocacy for these positions. The successful candidate will have a strong policy understanding of the energy industry, including renewable energy development, energy procurement policy, state and ISO energy market policy, electric and gas grid infrastructure policy, and federal and state utility legislation and regulation across North America. This position will report to the Senior Vice President for Energy and will partner with the Senior Director of Global External Affairs. **Preferred Locations:** + Dallas, TX + Washington, DC + Philadelphia, PA **Responsibilities:** + Develop and execute advocacy strategies that support CyrusOne’s energy and grid infrastructure policy priorities in states across North America. + Contribute to energy policy advocacy efforts within CyrusOne including coordinating and developing collateral such as policy position papers and talking points. + Work with internal and external stakeholders as well as experts to identify opportunities and risks arising from policy and regulatory development. + Facilitate meetings between CyrusOne and key stakeholders, including senior government officials, regulators, industry associations and alliance partners to promote CyrusOne’s advocacy positions. + Craft and contribute to policy submissions and engage in consultations with relevant regulators. + Provide expert advice to internal business partners and assist them in developing their respective business strategies. + Other duties as assigned. **Qualifications:** + 8+ years of experience representing an energy company, working as or for a policymaker or regulator on energy issues, or representing an energy trade association. + Experience leading energy policy initiatives at the state and federal level. + Experience working with various institutions of government, including with state regulatory dockets and regulatory intervention. + Depth of experience in policy research and strategy development. + Experience working with and at the highest corporate, federal, state and local government levels. + Excellent written and oral communication. + Demonstrated ability of good judgment and thoughtful decision-making, and political acumen. + The ability to travel based on business needs.
