Job Description

To ensure the effective value adding risk management of Credit Evaluation, managing and enhancing the approval of credit applications for Private Banking customers within acceptable parameters, in order for Private Banking and Standard Bank Namibia, to achieve asset growth targets, whilst maintaining a quality-lending book, through judicious, product and system development and effective management.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related.

Experience:

5-7 years: Experience in the finance industry with specific exposure to large transaction underwriting is a key skill for this position.5-7 years: Extensive banking and bank product knowledge, with 2 years supervisory experience in the Banking Client and product solution environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure that the Credit Procedure Manual, Local Credit Policy and Risk Acceptance Criteria Manual are in place and that they conform to best practice at all times.Evaluation of credit proposals and applications to assess whether the deal’s credit risk is sufficiently contained within acceptable risk parameters.Proactively drive the review process of existing facilities, ensure a consistent thorough and timely evaluation of all existing facilitiesDetects and evaluate shifts or changes in key risk parameters and evaluate the implications of such changes on continued banking relationship.Oversee that Private Banking accounts identified as problematic are taken up with the Business Unit to ensure that remedial action is taken where possible to regularize the exposure or escalate them to Rehabilitation & Recoveries.
