Role Description
The Business Planning & Operations Senior Manager plays a critical role in strategic planning, business analytics, operational excellence, governance, and enablement within the Hyperforce Platform Services (HPS) organization. Reporting to the VP of Business Operations, this role requires a combination of strategic vision, attention to detail, strong initiative, and excellent interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will excel at collaborating with senior executives and leading key initiatives, particularly in budget operations and Hyperforce efficiency efforts. This role will also dotted line into the Director, HPS Business Planning & Operations.

Budget Operations

Manage the Hyperforce Trust Platform budget across all spend categories by:Analyzing actuals, forecasting, summarizing variances, and collaborating with engineering teams to address gaps.Partnering with EVP/SVP stakeholders to ensure monthly budget accuracy, provide forecast updates, and clarify variance drivers.Tracking the financial progress of Cost-to-Serve (CTS) initiatives and savings estimates, identifying opportunities for improvement, and working with Engineering leaders and TPMs to enhance execution visibility.Enable and advise the operational set up of our second substrate cloud provider to ensure:Taxonomy is aligned to the right strategic objectivesTagging strategy enables cost allocation to the right categoriesEngineering Budget Owners are onboarded and able to effectively manage workloads and cost estimatesLead and / or support analysis for special or ad hoc projects:As new themes or unique scenarios arise, taking on additional financial modeling analysis related to cost to serve, new engineering efforts that materially impact our budget, such as Safe Change, and modeling various scenarios as we continue our migration of customers and workloads out of data centers to public cloud.Oversee the Budget Request (BR) process by:Validating estimates, identifying Return on Level of Appropriation (RLOA), and seeking incremental funding when needed.Coordinating with architects to address clarifying questions and tracking BR spend against estimates.Collaborate with the Budget Request Tool Product Manager and engineering teams to evaluate and develop new tooling features for improved efficiency.Oversee headcount operations to align with strategic objectives.


Hyperforce Efficiency

Enhance visibility into Hyperforce efficiency by driving progress in key areas, including ODCR (On-Demand Cloud Resources), storage, network/compute choices, and design optimization.Analyze raw data to identify trends, formulate insights, and recommend actionable solutions.Partner with Engineering Leaders and Program Managers on cost savings and or efficiency plans, including estimating and tracking savings.Partner with the Data Engineering and Capacity Planning teams to improve data availability, metrics tracking, and prioritization of data analysis efforts.Evaluate and optimize internal business processes across partner functions, such as Finance, HR, Recruiting, Product Management, and Program Management.



Required Skills

10+ years in consulting, investment banking, finance, strategy, or operations roles, with a proven track record of managing complex projects across diverse stakeholders.Strategic thinking with strong attention to detail.Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities, including data analysis and financial knowledge.Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across cross-functional and global teams.Proficiency in delivering qualitative and quantitative operational reports to analyze business performance.Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of managing programs with minimal oversight.Adept at balancing strategic planning with tactical execution in fast-paced environments.Preemptive problem-solver with a collaborative approach.Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field required.


Preferred Requirements

Experience and knowledge with Salesforce tools and products; Salesforce trailhead and certification.Background in finance, including FP&A, corporate finance, or investment, is a plus.Proficiency with data analysis tools such as Tableau and SQL, is a plus.

For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $155,400 to $213,800.

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $169,600 to $233,200.

For Illinois based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $155,400 to $213,800.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
