Senior Manager, Brand Strategist (remote)

Brand Strategist, Cognizant Brand team, Senior Manager

As a brand and creative strategist on the Cognizant Brand team, you’ll play a pivotal role in helping to strengthen our brand, changing perceptions and setting us apart from competitors in the fast-moving technology services industry. Leveraging sharp brand strategy, standard-setting creativity, original qualitative and quantitative research, and the latest marketing techniques and technologies, you’ll help drive mission-critical strategic and creative projects that elevate the Cognizant brand to advance business objectives—fueling demand, shaping customer experiences and inspiring employee engagement.

In this role, it is essential to have a background in visual branding and storytelling. You need not be a designer, but you must have a passion for design, systems thinking, brand architecture, and all the nuances of guiding the creation of on-brand concepts. For example, you’ll help drive an expansion of our visual identity system, determining how we should evolve our visual language to better solve our business and communications challenges. You’ll collaborate with design leaders to create fresh experiences that are on-brand for Cognizant. And help define how we visualize emerging technologies, such as generative AI. You’ll help guide our creative organization in storytelling and information design, finding and visualizing the tales the data should tell. And we’ll definitely need your assistance with brand governance of all kinds, answering questions that come to us from all over the business.

Your responsibilities will include:

· Collaborating with senior brand strategists, designers, writers and marketers from across our organization to bring the Cognizant brand strategy to life in multi-channel brand experiences, such as:

o Advertising campaigns and brand videos

o Corporate website and intranet

o Social media

o Thought leadership and content marketing (videos, podcasts, articles, digital applications)

o Events

o Experiential sponsorships

o Recruiting

o Employee experiences

o Public relations and communications

o Investor and analyst relations

· Working with Cognizant strategists, designers and writers to develop, manage, refine and expand brand elements and resources such as:

o Visual and verbal identity assets and guidelines

o Brand and naming architecture

o Brand templates

o Brand training and communications for internal and agency audiences

o Other tools to enable the creation of on-brand deliverables

· Collaborating with others on the brand team to advise on brand strategy across the business, e.g.,

o Offering, business unit and event strategy and naming

o Digital advertising and content

o Governance and advisory on projects, large and small, done by other parts of the business

· Developing creative briefs to establish the strategy and approach for a wide variety of deliverables

· Fostering a spirit of creativity and strategic thinking that inspires others to understand, appreciate and elevate our brand standards

The ideal candidate:

· Has 7+ years of experience in brand, creative and marketing roles, with a minimum of 7 years of agency experience building leading brands in a variety of industries, ideally including technology and other B2B brands. Involvement in designing environments and spaces, and experience working at a Global 2000 company would be a plus.

· Possesses subject matter expertise in brand strategy, and visual and verbal identity: positioning, architecture, design language, naming, voice, messaging and content development

· Has a deep understanding of leading marketing tactics, and an ability to contribute to excellence in brand and marketing experiences across channels, including digital, social, video, presentations, corporate communications, events, etc.

· Is persuasive and articulate in presenting creative strategies to senior team members

· Is driven to innovate brand strategy and expression and raise the bar with every project

· Is a creative, high-functioning problem-solver able to keep projects moving at top speed, even in challenging and ambiguous circumstances

· Is a lifelong learner, eager to understand the nuances of complex business dynamics and tech concepts

· Enjoys collaborating with others, embodying Cognizant’s values by treating people with respect within and outside the team and the company.

In order to:

· Partner with stakeholders across the business including marketing, media, analytics, communications and new product teams to create exceptional content, gain helpful feedback and refine accordingly to deliver a standard-setting product

· Be a persuasive ambassador for the power of brand, activating our brand narrative internally and externally to scale influence across the organization and drive demand and desire in potential clients and recruits

· Bring your brand knowledge into the corporate realm, working on your own as well as alongside others on a wide variety of projects, helping to uplevel our brand experience across Cognizant’s vast organization.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $100,000 - $150,000, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
