Senior Legal Contract Manager

 

We are looking to recruit a Commercial Contract Services Manager to join the Mitie Group Legal team on a permanent basis.  The post holder will work on public sector tender opportunities across Central and Local Government, and Defence.  Reporting to the Head of Contract Services, the role is responsible for reviewing public sector tender opportunities from contract perspective.  Working collaboratively with the pricing and bid teams, you will provide sound commercial legal advice, support the bid process to ensure compelling solutions are developed.  You will be a trusted advisor to the key stakeholders and act as an enabler not a blocker.  Some operational commercial legal support of existing contracts is also required.

You may be an inhouse lawyer, paralegal or in a commercial support function with a facilities background.  Experience in public sector facilities management is crucial, ideally in a business development or commercial operational capacity.  

Responsibilities

Lead the review of contract terms and conditions for any new business opportunities and contract retenders identifying key commercial risks and preparing a legal summary as part of tender sign-off process Preparation of contract précis/guides and presentations to improve contract awareness and enable operational teams to understand and effectively manage key commercial and contractual risks Promote compliance with internal policy and procedures

What we are looking for

Are you educated to degree level or equivalent in a legal/business discipline and/or proven experience in a similar legal/commercial role? Are you familiar with CCS Framework contracts or other complex public sector facilities management contracts including with the MoD? Do you have experience of undertaking legal, commercial & contractual reviews and the preparation of contractual summaries? Do you have experience of negotiating contracts terms to successful close out? Do you have a high level of legal/commercial awareness including knowledge of current contract legislation?
