LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER IN BOTANY (ONE POST)

Job Summary: The School of Animal, Plant and Environmental Sciences is looking for an exceptional candidate in plant biology/ecology, with expertise in organismal biology, evolutionary ecology or plant physiology who will be able to complement existing skills in savanna diversity, ecology, and evolution and collaborate with existing members of the school (with expertise in biogeography, ecophysiology, evolutionary biology, systematics).

Brief Description

Minimum qualification / requirement

PhDAt least two years postdoctoral experience and a good publication record in international and regional peer-reviewed journalsAn established independent research trajectoryExcellent oral and written skills in EnglishQuantitative skills and the ability to work with statistical languages like RValid driver s license (at least code B)

Additional advantage:

Experience in teaching undergraduate courses, including large classesExperience of postgraduate student supervision, appropriate for the level of the postTrack record of attracting independent research grant funding

Field of research:

Plant biologist with an emphasis on using experimental approaches to investigate biodiversity and evolution. The candidate should possess strong practical and experimental skills and will be able to complement our existing skills in biogeography, systematic biology, systems ecology and plant physiology.
