Senior Learning Specialist -Tow/Wrecker
AAA Club Alliance is hiring for a Senior Learning Specialist to join our team! This position will support the Automotive Services team. The Senior Learning Specialist must have at least ten (10) years of consecutive and current documented wrecker operation experience in law enforcement towing/recovery or at least five (5) years of consecutive and current documented wrecker operation experience in law enforcement towing/recovery with formalized training certifications (Wrecker Master, TRAA, NATA, Light Duty Towing Recovery). The selected candidate can be based in Oklahoma or Kansas (Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Wichita, or Topeka). Weekly travel in these regions will be required. This role can work-from-home when not traveling. Incorporates internal and external monitoring processes when available and provides feedback to associate’s supervisor/manager. + Utilizes the Learning Management System (AAAU) for all course management and administration. + Monitors computer applications functionality and ensures that updates are available to, and understood by, the business line Associates. Records and reports any malfunction or misinformation to appropriate personnel. + Utilizes Level 1 course evaluations to assess direct associate feedback to improve personal facilitation skills. Makes recommendations to management for course enhancements. + Interacts with associates throughout ACA on specific organization defined processes and techniques to develop and implement learning initiatives and programs. + Consults as Learning & Development representative on business line teams and networks across the department. Leads all meetings, including scheduling and follow up. + Builds learning solutions designed to meet organizational goals and priorities. Utilizes design documents and storyboards, and implements best practices in adult learning theory. Leverages innovative learning methodology and technology to engage participants, deliver content and increase overall effectiveness of learning. Completes pilot testing and calibrates to achieve program objectives. + Provides post-class performance management, in office, on the phone, or virtually, to support learners to achieve performance results as it aligns with learning programs. + Actively participates in professional learning organizations and external committees to stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices to recommend changes to current L&D practices and processes. + Applies a learning design methodology, such as the ADDIE model, to instructor-led/blended-learning curricula, to include activity matrix, participant guides, leader guides, job aides, and learning objectives, for a mix of delivery modalities. + Continuously monitors and maintains learning program content and affiliated materials such as job aides, leader guides, and participant guides; coordinates and completes updates, revisions, and correction of errors. + Conducts needs assessments for departments, identifying specific behaviors, and processes/systems. Makes recommendations to management based on the data received. + Utilizes industry accepted practices, such as Kirkpatrick’s theory of evaluation, for the purpose of evaluating training programs in an effort to determine the impact of training on departmental results. + Serves as a mentor to other learning positions within the Learning & Development team in order to support a consistent knowledge base and efficient team structure. + Represents Learning and Development on organization-wide teams. Minimum Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Adult Learning, Education or a related field. + 6-8+ years of professional experience with 5+ years’ faciliation/learning & development experience. + At least ten (10) years of consecutive and current documented wrecker operation experience in law enforcement towing/recovery or at least five (5) years of consecutive and current documented wrecker operation experience in law enforcement towing/recovery with formalized training certifications (Wrecker Master, TRAA, NATA, Light Duty Towing Recovery). + ASE A6, A8 and Master Certification preferred + IITR preferred – Minimum 5 years Automotive Experience and resume submitted to IITR board + DOT Certification preferred + Ability to organize and coordinate numerous activities, and speak effectively in a public setting. Strong organizational skills to ensure that course venues are set up correctly for the method of learning and time is managed during individual sessions so that they can finish the course on time. + Ability to facilitate training programs, applying the techniques of Adult Learning with effective written and oral communication skills to enable accurate completion of assignments and effective interactions with all levels of associates. + Familiar with the range of industry learning tools and techniques, including workshops, classroom lectures, videos or presentations, online learning, training manuals, one-to-one coaching, and group role-play session. + Knowledge of the technology which supports the organization’s policies and processes. Proficient computing skills including use of the Internet, as well as standard business application software (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.). + Ability to apply independent judgment to identify, select, and apply the most appropriate of available guidelines and procedures, interpret precedent and adopt standard methods of practice to meet variations in fact and/or conditions. + Ability to work independently and respond to changing work priorities. + Skilled project leader with management oversight and guidance. + Ability to study previously established, often partially relevant guidelines; plan for various interrelated activities, and coordinate such activities within a work unit or while completing a project. + Proficient in performance management and coaching skills/concepts.
