Lakeland Manufacturing Inc. has been serving the hydraulic, electro-mechanical and OEM industries globally from our central Minnesota location since 1989. Our capabilities include machining, tooling and milling, and long and short production runs.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Lathe Machinist to join our team at our location in Alexandria, MN. This role requires expertise in operating and setting up CNC lathes, interpreting blueprints, training employees, and ensuring precision machining of metal components. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical aptitude, leadership skills, and a commitment to quality and efficiency.
What You’ll Do:
🔧 Master the Machine – Set up, operate, and fine-tune CNC lathes to produce high-precision metal components.
📏 Blueprint Boss – Read and interpret technical drawings, GD&T, and work orders to meet exact specifications.
⚙️ Precision Matters – Adjust machine settings and tool offsets to maintain ultra-tight tolerances and flawless quality.
🛠️ Keep It Running – Perform routine maintenance and inspections to keep our machines in peak condition.
📐 Quality First – Use precision measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure perfection in every part.
🤝 Collaborate & Innovate – Work with engineers, programmers, and machinists to refine processes and boost efficiency.
👨🏫 Mentor & Lead – Train and guide operators, sharing your machining wisdom and best practices.
📖 Build the Playbook – Assist in creating training materials and standard operating procedures for machining excellence.
🏭 Safety & Order – Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
What We’re Looking For:
✔️ Experience – 10+ years of hands-on CNC lathe expertise in a manufacturing environment.
✔️ Technical Know-How – Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, materials, and Mazatrol programming (bonus!).
