You Are:

UST is searching for a Senior Java Developer who will own the overall delivery providing expert consultancy to developers and leads in the area of specialization, ensuring process level and customer level compliance.

 

The opportunity:

·       Hybrid-In office/remote

·       Promote technical solutions which support the business requirements within the area of expertise.

·       Ensures IT requirements are met, and service quality maintained when introducing new services. Considers the cost effectiveness of proposed solution(s).

·       Innovative and technically sound in analyzing projects in depth.

·       Define and evaluate standards and best practices for the technology area of expertise.

·       Collaborate with architects by helping them in choosing the technology tools for solutioning.

 

This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.

 

What you need:

·       5+ years Software Development experience in Java 17 with Javascript experience also desirable

·       5+years of experience in Springboot

·       3+years of experience in Kubernetes

·       Experience in Azure and Oracle Certified Professional is a bonus

·       Experience working for large banking clients is a bonus

·       Experience in mobile services/mobile application development is desirable

·       Experience in continuous development/integration methodologies

·       Self-starting and motivated, with sense of responsibility

·       Solid core Java skills with good understanding of concurrency and multi-threading

·       Knowledge of design patterns and software development best practices

·       Experience building and maintaining large scale distributed systems that have been successfully delivered to customers

·       Solid understanding of test-driven development and familiarity with best-of-breed tools and technologies

·       Takes great personal pride in building robust software

·       Strong sense of ownership

·       Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment

·       Optional:

o   Experienced working with the Spring framework and ORM tools such as Hibernate

o   Experience with build tools such as Gradle

o   Experienced in developing and consuming RESTful APIs

 

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

Role Location: Ontario

Compensation Range: $119,000-$145,000

Benefits

Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They and their dependents residing in Canada are eligible for Supplemental Healthcare coverage, as well as Company-paid Employee Only basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage.

Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year). They and their dependents residing in Canada are eligible for Supplemental Healthcare coverage, as well as Company-paid Employee Only basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage.

Part-time regular and temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year).

All Canadian employees who work in a province, territory or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
