Job & Division Summary
This job opening is for a Senior Embedded IoT Developer joining the EcoPlant Engineering team as part of the IR Digital organization.
The selected candidate will be responsible for developing & maintaining application features as part of a cross-functional scrum team to ensure feature completion and platform-stability within broader IoT systems of EcoPlant and IR Compressor Business.
Responsibilities
Extension of IR’s product portfolio in terms of IoT edge hardware and connectivity options Write technical designs and develop new features for the IoT Edge devices using a modular architecture. Debug and fix issues reported by the QA & Field teams. Ensure unit-test coverage and successful test-case execution. Work closely with the product managers, scrum master/ team lead, and the rest of the scrum team to deliver their stories, features, and bug-fixes as planned for every sprint. Manage application code technical debt, improve code performance, and enhance application security at various layers (OS, Application, Network transit). Strive to continuously improve technical & debugging skills by staying current with the latest libraries, frameworks, and application design good practices in the Python & Raspberry Pi ecosystem.Mandatory Skills
5+ years of total development experience in Python-based application development on Linux based embedded systems like Raspberry Pi. Experience in working with IoT solutions and understanding of protocols like MQTT. Good understanding of interprocess communication concepts like Redis or RabbitMQ. Experience with AWS/GCP cloud, DevOps practices, and tools for CI/CD, Git/ GitHub/ GitLab Strong communication skills and experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.Desired skills:
Experience in unit testing & code quality tools like Pytest, SonarQube, etc. Open-source contributions and personal projects completed and hosted to learn the latest in development frameworks. Good understanding of secure programming practices and exposure to IEC 62443 standardBasic Qualifications
